The Days are Upon Us for More Activity

The planets are once again moving into eclipse degrees and that means it's time to be on alert again for possible increased seismic activity.
In a previous posting, I named a few dates and two of those dates are upon us--

July 21, 2010 and July 22, 2010 when the Sun is transiting the eclipse degree of 29 Cancer which is the Radical MC of the LA chart. Saturn makes her ingress into Libra where it will transit for the next 2 years.

However, in the next week or two, there are more dates to watch for seismic activity.
Those dates are:

July 25, 2010, full moon when the Moon transits the activation eclipse degrees of 25-29 Capricorn  and also 2-8 Aquarius and the Sun moves into transiting square with the Progressed CA Ascendant
July 26, 2010 when the Sun comes into orb with the Progressed Pluto of the LA chart at 4 Aquarius and  squares the progressed CA Ascendant at 3 Taurus; Moon transiting eclipse degrees of 6 Aquarius, opposite the eclipse of 9-10 Leo, 13-14 Aquarius, 17 Aquarius; Venus will be transiting the eclipse point of 18 Virgo; and Mars will be transiting opposite the eclipse of 28 Pisces.

***These are also dates that could indicate the current tropical depression Bonnie to develop into a hurricane hitting the Gulf of Mexico spill area.

This week and next is action packed with powerful aspects, Ingresses, and stations taking place.
  • Jupiter turns retrograde on July 23, 2010 at 3:54 am PDT.
  • Jupiter squares Pluto precisely on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 4:33 pm PDT.
  • The final exact Saturn-Uranus opposition occurs on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 10:08 am PDT.
  • Mercury enters its home sign of Virgo, July 27, 2010 at 2:43 pm PDT.
  • Mars enters Libra on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 4:47pm PDT and plugs into the Cardinal Crisis alignment.
  • Friday, July 30, 2010 is packed with activity as the Moon enters Aries at 1:42 pm PDT to conjoin transiting Uranus and oppose both transiting Mars and Saturn within hours.
This time period could be very active for seismic activity and really, all dates are implicated in some manner with all the planets lining up to make it the true climax of the Cardinal Crisis transits.

On July 29, 2010, the transiting Sun will conjunct the Progressed CA node in the 4th house opposite the Progressed Mars at 6 Aquarius ( the eclipse degree of January 26, 2009) that has the potential to set off the progressed aspects of Mars.  As the day progresses, Mars ingresses into Libra. Times for potential quake activity are:
when the Moon transits the eclipse degree of 15 Pisces-16 Pisces opposing the Radical Sun of the CA chart and 18 Virgo-20 Virgo when the Moon transits the eclipse degree and opposes transiting Venus.

July 30, 2010 will be an interesting day to watch as the Sun passes over in opposition to eclipse degree of 6 Aquarius, but the transiting Moon comes to join the Cardinal Climax party at 0 Aries in the afternoon with transiting Mars, Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter, and Pluto.

Dates Update

Now that I've had a little more time to review the California Chart in depth with a few other quakes, I would like to update the forecast of dates for seismic activity in California.

***July 12, 2010 when the Moon transits the eclipse degree range of 27-29 Cancer square to Progressed Uranus and Pluto; Mercury will be conjunct the Progressed Node at 5 Leo opposite Progressed Mars which is conjunct the eclipse degree at 6 Aquarius; Venus will be in the eclipse degree of 2 Virgo conjunct the Progressed Moon; Mars will coming into square with Progressed Chiron.  As the Moon moves toward the conjunction with the Progressed Node at 5 Leo it opposes Progressed Mercury at 0 Aquarius first.  A high danger date for a quake.
*July 13, 2010 when the Moon transits the Radical Node of the CA chart at 14 Leo, the eclipse degree of 21-22 Leo, or 24-25 Leo  opposite the Progressed Lilith at 25 Aquarius conjunct the eclipse degree at 24 Aquarius

***July 14, 2010 when the Moon transits opposite the Progressed Sun at 27 Aquarius and transiting Neptune at 28 Aquarius.  Also, when the Moon transits through the eclipse degrees of 2 Virgo conjunct transiting Venus at 4 Virgo opposite the eclipse degree at 4-5 Pisces.  This is yet another time period is highly implicated as the transiting Sun is square to Progressed Jupiter; Mercury is in an eclipse degree at 9 Leo; Venus is opposite an eclipse degree at 4-5 Virgo; and Mars is conjunct with fixed star Denebola ,square to Progressed Chiron with the outer planets involved in the T-square,  and the node is conjunct Progressed Venus.

As we move toward the end of the month and into August, I will update as needed as we are still in the height of the Cardinal Climax transits.

Most recently, I was reviewing the Easter Baja 7.2 quake and will probably put it up on the blog shortly.  There has been quite a lot of astrological analysis on that quake already, but not necessarily with an eye on the California chart which I will show.

Tense Days Ahead--some dates and times

California, don't think you can relax after that 5.4 quake.....the danger persists as the Sun heads toward the solar eclipse degrees of 25 Cancer and 29 Cancer.  The eclipse of July 21, 2009 at 29 Cancer hit directly on the MC of the Radical LA chart.  The danger from another quake still looms with the upcoming solar eclipse on July 11, 2010 as it eclipses the Radical Mars of the LA chart by opposition and the Progressed IC of the CA chart.  The new eclipse is also conjunct with the fixed star Castor described in mundane astrology as a wicked influence.

Some dates and times to watch are listed.  Most likely spot for a quake to hit is the triangular region around the Salton Sea,  San Jacinto and Cajon Pass area.

July 9. 2010** when the Moon transits square to transiting Mars around 17-18 Gemini and the Sun transits square to the Progressed CA Saturn at 17 Aries.  *Perhaps when the Moon transits 21 Gemini in opposition to the Progressed CA Chiron at 21 Sagittarius is another potential time.  Comet McNaught 2009 R1 was at this point at the time of the Cancer Ingress which rules for the 3 month period from June 21, 2010.

July 10, 2010*** when the Moon transits to 28-29 Gemini, 0-11 Cancer   ***All Day Long***  The lineup of planets in all charts has many placements in early cardinal degrees, therefore impossible to select one in particular.  Venus will be transiting the IC of the San Francisco chart at 28-29 Leo; Mars will be transiting the eclipse point of 18 Virgo; Saturn will be transiting the eclipse point of 29 Virgo; Jupiter will transit square the Radical Moon of the LA chart, Progressed LA AC angle, Radical LA Neptune, and Radical Jupiter of the San Francisco chart....

July 11, 2010***when the Moon transits 17 Cancer and continues through to the eclipse degrees of 25 and 29 Cancer.  The Sun activates the Progressed IC angle of the CA chart, Venus transits an eclipse degree, Mars is in an eclipse degree, Saturn is in an eclipse degree, and Mercury will be conjunct with the Radical LA Pluto eclipsed in 2009.

July 12, 2010*** when the Moon transits the eclipse degree of 29 Cancer early in the morning and then continues to 4 Leo opposite the Radical Pluto of LA and 5 Leo to the Progressed Node of the CA chart sitting in the 4th house* opposite the eclipsed Progressed Mars at 6 Aquarius.

July 17, 2010  and July 18, 2010 when the Moon transits the degrees of 16-29 Libra as there are many outer planet activations in the CA, LA, and SF charts.  Not as many activations for the other inner planets though.

July 21, 2010*** when the Moon transits 13 Sagittarius conjunct the Radical Saturn of LA and square to the eclipse degree of 13 Virgo and the Radical Sun of the LA chart.  The Sun will be in the eclipse degree of 29 Cancer of last year's solar eclipse having eclipsed the Radical MC of the LA chart, Venus will be transiting the eclipse of 13 Virgo, Mercury will be transiting the eclipse degree of 21 Leo conjunct the Radical node of the SF chart.

July 22, 2010*** when the Moon transits the degrees of 21-24 Sagittarius.

It's difficult to post anything on the chart of the San Andreas fault as there are too many unknowns at this time and it's still in the testing phase. There are a few things to look at in this chart however.  The San Andreas fault chart does have Radical Saturn placed at 18 Libra and is square to this upcoming eclipse.  The Radical Node of this chart is at 5 Aries square to the last eclipse of June 26, 2010 at 4 Capricorn.  Will this chart prove useful?  It's anyone's guess at this point, but Beetroot, the quake predicting cat, and I are working on it.

The progressions are interesting as well.  The progressed chart I created based on the research I've done is below.  I selected the time of 12 noon on June 30, 1894, as the exact time is unknown therefore making the angles, moon, and points unreliable. Take a look.

It's Time to Wake Up

Life sure has a way of interfering with my plans.  I had hoped to go over the main charts for California before now, but unfortunately my sweet cat, Beetroot (pictured), has had an extended stay in the Bay Hill Cat Hospital this past week so everything got put on hold.  She's doing much better and graduated from the mere $1000 hairball to the $3000 mother of all hairballs. She's not even a longhaired cat!  Alas, my delay in going over the charts....

So let's jump in starting with the California chart.  There was a 3.0 quake SE of San Francisco this morning very close to the San Andreas fault.
Taking a look at the transits for the Radical CA chart, we have transiting Venus activating an eclipse degree is in opposition to Radical Lilith near the cusp of the 4th house and squaring the Radical AC and Moon.  * Eclipse stimulation, 4th house cusp and angular stimulation are all active players in earthquakes.  The Transiting Node is squaring Radical Mars and Mercury. Transiting Mercury is conjunct the Radical Vertex and Comet McNaught 2009 R1 square to the Radical Sun at 16 Virgo.  Transiting Mars is opposite the Radical Neptune in the 4th house.  The outer transiting planets of Uranus, Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto are adding to the stress of Radical Jupiter at 29 Virgo (an eclipse degree).  At the time of the quake, the Transiting Moon set off the Radical Mercury (separating) in opposition to Radical Saturn (applying).  While this is a minor quake, it's worth noting because of it's proximity to the San Andreas fault.  In the coming weeks,  the Sun will be moving into position to set off the oppositions in Aries-Libra along with the Transiting Node in Capricorn.  It may be a couple of weeks before then, but it's time to wake up as California's main fault is starting to look to do the same.

One of California's worst quakes on the San Andreas fault is the 1857 Ft. Tejon quake.

Looking at the chart, we can see that Cardinal signs are involved.  The Moon and Saturn are both opposite the eclipse degree of 10 Capricorn from the July 1, 1852 lunar eclipse, Saros 17 N, and square to the node in Aries.  The Sun was within the allowable orb to square the lunar eclipse October 13, 1856  degree of 21 Aries, and square to the solar eclipse of April 5, 1856 degree of 16 Aries.  Mars is square to the solar eclipse of May16, 1855 of 25 Taurus.  Jupiter is within orb square to lunar eclipses of December 26, 1852 at 5 Cancer and June 21, 1853 at 0 Capricorn. Uranus is opposite the lunar eclipse of May 12, 1854 at 21 Scorpio  and finally Pluto is within orb of the lunar eclipse of October 25, 1855 at 1 Taurus square to Chiron and Mercury.  This is quite a lineup of activations to eclipse points.  However, we must reference this chart back to the Capricorn Ingress chart set for Washington DC.

Here is the Capricorn Ingress chart for 1856.
This is where it starts to make more sense as we can see the 4th house cusp is in Taurus, an earth sign with an affinity for the earth movements.  The cusp is conjunct the malefic star Algol associated with great misfortune and violence and the cusp is at an eclipse degree from the solar eclipse of May 16, 1855.  Uranus is nearby only adding to danger from unexpected, shocking weather/seismic related events.  Venus rules the 4th house in this chart and is conjunct Mars, Chiron and the AC square to Pluto signifying violent, wounding events brought to the fore affecting the nation and causing misery. Luckily, the region was largely unpopulated so the damage incurred, though bad, did not cause the death of more than two people.  This would not be the case today if there is to be another quake of this magnitude in the region.
The Astrolocality map for the Capricorn Ingress of 1856 shows a Node IC line passing through the area effected by the quake thus highlighting the region as a potential trouble spot before the actual date.

With the upcoming eclipse season, once again we have a few eclipses and many planets in Cardinal signs. The transits to eclipse degrees of the last few years is upon us in the next few weeks.  Although the Cancer Ingress chart of 2010 doesn't have any lines passing through California, the date of the Comet McNaught 2009 R1's perihelion does.  Will something happen?  Perhaps...

Time Period of April 29-May 6

As much as I would like to say the danger from a significant quake is severely lessened in California, I cannot.  Although quake activity in the last week has been quiet, I don't believe it will remain so in the coming week.

For Los Angeles, the potential rises as the Transiting Moon approaches the Progressed Vertex at 20 Scorpio which happens on April 29th.

Yet, it is in the later part of this time period that pose more of a danger to California as the Transiting Sun, Mercury, Venus, Moon, and Mars move into a t-square formation affecting the Radical California chart involving the nodal degree across the angles of the chart.

Dates to Watch: May 3rd, May 4th and May 5th!

The Transiting Moon will conjunct the Transiting Node on May 3rd at 13 Capricorn in trine to the Transiting Sun and squares the progressed Vertex ,Radical Mercury, and Radical Mars of the California chart in the early morning hours. The Transiting Mercury will be opposite the Radical AC.  The Transiting Sun is also square to Transiting Mars conjunct the Radical Node and opposite the activation point of the lunar eclipse of August 2009 at 13-14 Aquarius.  The Moon then continues on to transit the eclipse degree of 15 Capricorn, the Radical LA Mars at 17 Capricorn, and the Progressed MC of the California chart at 19 Capricorn (opposite the upcoming Solar eclipse degree at 19 Cancer) throughout the day.  At 4:30 pm PDT, Mars will exactly oppose the eclipse of August 2009 at 13degrees, 44 minutes Leo and the Transiting Moon will hit the Progressed MC and square the Radical Saturn of the CA chart.

May 4, 2010
The Transiting Sun will be square the Node beginning on May 4th.  The afternoon/evening hours of May 5th the Moon will move into conjunction with the Radical South Node and square the Transiting Sun.  The Transiting Mercury will oppose the Radical Moon across the AC/DC axis and the Transiting Venus will be coming into a square with the Radical Sun and forming a trine to Radical Mercury.
The outer planets at this time will still be in a t-square formation in the later degrees of Virgo-Pisces activating the eclipses of 9NN and 8S.  What is different at this time is the Transiting Mars, the Transiting Sun, and the Transiting Moon will hit the activation points of the 11S Saros eclipse.  According to Bernadette Brady, the 11S Saros Series deals with sudden reforms and any blocks that stand in the way, could be violently removed.

The very greatest danger posed to Southern California ( Los Angeles region) is on May 4, 2010 from the early morning hours when the Transiting Sun and Transiting Mars will be square and activating the lunar eclipse of August 6, 2009 which was visible in California.  Transiting Venus will conjunct the progressed Mars at 10-11 Gemini.  The Moon will be transiting the solar eclipse of January 15, 2010 at 25 Capricorn and the solar eclipse of July 22, 2009 at 29 Cancer that took place directly on the Radical MC angle of the Los Angeles Chart. The Radical AC and Node of the LA chart is at 26 Libra square to the Transiting Moon as well during the morning hours on May 4th.  The Moon will continue onward from that time to transit the Radical 4th house Pluto at 4 Aquarius and the Progressed Pluto at 8 Aquarius in the early morning hours of May 5th.  The Moon moves onward to transit the activation points of 13-15 Aquarius (eclipse of August 2009 and square to the lunar eclipse of 15 Pisces, Saros 8S indicating separation and loss.

As for the outer planets, there are several activation points: Transiting Uranus (conjunct with fixed star Scheat at Pisces 29)  will be exactly square to the Progressed Uranus at 29 Gemini in the LA Chart. Transiting Saturn will be square to the Progressed LA Jupiter at 28 Sagittarius. Both of these transits activate the eclipses in Virgo, Saros Series 8S, dealing with separation and loss, and 9NN- the physically active Saros Series according to Ms. Brady.  This time period is very dangerous for Southern California!

There are quite a number of activation points to eclipses in late Capricorn and Aquarius that it's difficult to give an exact time for the Moon's transit to set off an earthquake but the activation of the eclipse degrees of Capricorn 25 through 29
are a good place to start.  Let it be noted the Radical LA nodeand AC/DC axis sits at 26 Libra, square to these eclipse points in Capricorn thus increases the emphasis on the Moon transit to these points.

So, California is still on quake watch.

The San Francisco chart is also active at this time.

Transiting Saturn will conjunct the Progressed Sun at 29 Virgo. The Transiting Sun will square the Progressed Node in the 10th house conjunct with Transiting Mars and will oppose the Progressed Venus at 15 Scorpio . The Transiting Venus conjuncts the Progressed Vertex at 11 Gemini.  The Transiting Node exactly squares the Progressed Moon at 13 Aries.  Transiting Mercury will be square to the Progressed angles.  This is another dangerous setup.

One of the more interesting charts I am working with, although I haven't verified the angles because the data is not available, is the chart of the San Andreas Fault.  After contacting several agencies, I constructed this chart based on the publication of Andrew Lawson's work in the USGS of 1895.

I set the time for this chart at 12 noon on June 30, 1894--the date of the Annual Report of the USGS for the year 1895.  Having progressed this chart to May 4. 2010 we can see the Progressed Uranus is sitting directly opposite the Transiting Sun and square to Transiting Mars.

The Transiting Pluto is opposite the Progressed Jupiter and Transiting Venus is conjunct the Progressed Pluto in this chart. The Transiting Mercury is square to the Progressed Lilith.  In addition to these, the Transiting Moon will be square to the Progressed Saturn.  I cannot reliably use the angles in this chart since the time is unknown but the outer planet positions don't move that much so the transits to these positions are noted.  There is potential there for the San Andreas fault to be active during this time.  If I had to hazard a guess, I would say the part of the fault most  likely to be active would be the section from the Cajon Pass area to Frazier Park.

The danger for a major quake in California is increasing rather than decreasing since the Baja 7.2 quake.  From now into the summer, Californians should take care, be alert, and do the best to prepare for any emergency.  Above all, don't panic, spend the time to getting oraganized and prepared.

Oh my, Quake forecast

Well, this has certainly been quite a learning experience!  LOL, there's nothing quite like testing out a theory and having it go wrong, but that's what this is all about--learning.

This past week nothing has happened of note on the quake front in California.  So why hasn't anything occurred yet is the question.  With the Moon transiting the eclipses in Leo and Aquarius, the Moon activated the gentle Saros series of eclipses and now that the Moon is void of course in Virgo, nothing is likely to occur until the Moon ingresses into Libra.  Tomorrow on April 26, 2010 the exact opposition takes place between Uranus and Saturn.  This combination has the potential to set off quakes especially since it takes place in the Saros Series 9NN eclipse degree.  This particular Saros Series expresses itself physically according to Bernadette Brady's description.

As the Transiting Moon ingresses into Libra April 25, 2010 it makes contact with several Progressed planet postions in the Los Angeles, San Francisco, and California charts.
The list follows:

California chart
Progressed Vertex at 14 Libra.  I'm watching this closely because I've seen the Vertex very active in all quake charts and this one is square the Transiting Node.
Progressed Jupiter at 22 Libra

Los Angeles Chart
Progressed Neptune at 6 Libra in the Progressed 4th house and involved in the grand cross between Progressed Mercury, Uranus, Saturn and Jupiter.  This could be set off by the Transiting Moon on April 25, 2010.

San Francisco Chart
Progressed Jupiter at 2 Libra
Progressed Mars at 19 Libra ( an eclipse degree) in the 12th house conjunct Mercury at 23 Libra and opposite to the Super conjunction of the Moon, Saturn, Pluto, and Uranus in the 6th.  Ugh...this shows great potential for the Transiting Moon to set this off on April 26, 2010.  The Transiting Sun is square to the 4th house, activating the eclipse degree of 6 Aquarius and the Transiting Mercury and Mars would be activating the eclipse degree of 9-10 Leo via square for Mercury and conjunction for Mars.

Another coronal hole is forming along with the magnetic disturbance on earth facing of the Sun at this time.  The Sun has been spotless for a 10 day stretch now but is starting to show some activity.

So it's not time to relax yet.  Things are building up....stay tuned.

Update for April Quake Potential

We are now entering a critical watch period for the state of California in regards to quake activity.  The charts of California, San Francisco, Los Angeles are all active and transits will be hitting key positions in those charts.  A likely time for a quake to hit the state could be as soon as the next two days extending to the full moon.
Specifically the dates of April 21-April 28th.  I will attempt in a later post today to give specific time windows.
Please don't panic, but be ready.

California's Quake Potential in Summer 2010

The summer of 2010 is bound to be an eventful one with the cardinal climax and the eclipse season in full swing. The outer planets of Uranus, Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn will be lining up in a t-square formation along the early degrees of the cardinal signs, Aries, Libra, and Capricorn starting at the end of May. Uranus officially enters Aries on May 28, 2010 to be joined shortly thereafter by Jupiter on June 6, 2010. Though Pluto already entered Capricorn in late 2008, it is still hovering in the early degrees of Capricorn and will be adversely aspected to Saturn in late Virgo. Saturn entered Libra in October 2009 but will reenter Virgo in the summer. And this is where it gets interesting for potential quake activity in California this summer.

Some 15 months ago, I started researching quakes in California after I noticed the natal Pluto position of the LA chart in Celeste Teal's book on Eclipses. The LA radical Pluto was to be eclipsed on January 26, 2009 when I began reading. Pluto in the LA chart sits at 4 degrees Aquarius in the 4th house. The 4th house in mundane astrology governs over land, crops, real estate, etc. Radical Pluto in this house in a mundane chart gives it special meaning knowing California's propensity towards earth movements and the transforming and potentially destructive force of this planet. Since then, I've kept an ever watchful eye on this chart along with the California, and San Francisco charts. After researching many historic quakes in California and the world, ( examples: Owen's Valley, Bam quake, Kobe, etc.) I sent my research findings to Ms. Teal to urge her to put an article on her website about things I discovered. Thankfully, after checking my data herself, she did.

In addition to using lunations, ingresses, and eclipses, I have found the most telling story of an earthquake comes from looking at the progressed chart. I spent all of 2009 testing out various predictive system including secondary progressions, tertiary progressions, and solar arc theory to see what are the most important variables involved a setting off an earthquake.

The ingredients:

1. Radical and/or progressed planets and angles eclipsed

2. Transit activation to previous eclipse points

3. Progressed 4th house involvement of the city, state, or nation's chart

4. Progressed ascendant ruler in affliction in the chart

5. Lunations in the national USA chart that show 4th house affliction trouble

6. Saros series

7. For California, more earthquakes are triggered by LUNAR eclipses than solar eclipses. Why should this be so? If we look at the mundane chart for the USA ( 7 to 8 Gemini rising chart, even the Sibly chart works too), the USA has a Cancer Sun, ruled by the Moon in Aquarius which makes any changes affecting the reflected light of the lunar landscape here on earth (eclipses) more important and thus more sensitive to these events. It's as if someone turned off the lights to the USA for a period of time. The moon's depositor is the 'awakener' planet Uranus. Uranus isn't a planet that likes to play by the rules, it's individualistic, original, and shocking. In mundane astrology when Uranus is seriously afflicted it can create a lot havoc such as riots, rebellions, explosions, and the like. It is a fact that people act a bit crazier on the nights of full moons. Hospitals and police departments report more incidents during this time. The moon governs the 4th house in astrology that relates to the masses of people, land, houses, and also is reported to represent the opposition party in governmental matters.

8. Fixed stars

So let's discuss what's up this summer in Los Angeles. Bear with me, this is a lot like piecing together a puzzle when you don't have a visual representation of finished product, nor can you be sure you have all the pieces, but it's the challenge of trying to solve a mystery that intrigues and drives me forward to speculate on what could happen.

First, we have the Cancer Ingress for LA with 11 Gemini on the Asc with the Sun located in the 1st house. The Cancer Ingress chart features a grand cross formation involving the Sun, Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter, and Uranus in the early Cardinal degrees. Leo 21 is on the IC ( 4th house) in this chart set for Los Angeles. This exact point of 21 Leo was eclipsed February 9, 2009, lunar eclipse, Saros Series 11 north, thus it is a sensitize point for upcoming transits over the summer. It is also the same sign and degree as the node in the San Francisco chart. Note: (The IC/MC Axis is highlighted in the LA chart as the solar eclipse of last summer, July 21, 2009, hit right on the MC at 29 Cancer.)

The Sun, ruler over the 4th house, involved in the grand cross formation does not bode well for matters related to weather, land, or real estate. Furthermore, Mars is located in the 4th house in affliction to the conjunction of Neptune, black moon Lilith ( the shadow), and Chiron (wounding) in the 10th house. Mars in affliction in this house is very unfortunate. It spells trouble for the government, and adversely affects the property markets but especially denotes potential disasters such as fires and earthquakes. The radical Mars of the LA chart was eclipsed within a 2 degree orb last summer of July 7, 2009, so the transiting Mars becomes important to watch as it moves in the progressed and radical chart of LA. The Vertex, thought of as a meeting point of fate, is sitting at 5 Scorpio which also happens to be the rising sign and degree for the radical California chart. I have found it useful to use the vertex in looking at these charts to glean any information for what might come in the future. Usually reading the Sabian Symbol for this degree is quite helpful. Linda Hill's book description is "A gold rush tears people away from their native soil" and seems to be a very apt description for the chart of California.

Next, I would like to turn attention toward the New Moon chart of June 2010 set for Washington DC to see what clues can be found indicating trouble 4th house matters. The chart for this New Moon at 7:15am EDT, has the South Node rising at at 11 Cancer in conjunction with the radical Sun of the USA chart. The New Moon takes place in the 12th house at 21 Gemini exactly square to the IC at 21 Virgo, conjunct with the fixed star Denebola. Denebola has a reputation, according to Ptolemy, of causing despair, regrets, and misfortune from the elements of nature in mundane astrology. The New Moon is the focal point involved in a t-square formation with Uranus and Jupiter at 0 Aries, a critical degree, in the 10th house opposed by Saturn in the 4th at 27 Libra. The 12th house governs matters related to reformatory institutions such as prisons, hospitals, monastaries, and all things consider hidden, i.e. underground movements, and secret enemies. Mercury rules the 12th and 4th houses of this chart located in 11th and within a 3 degree conjunction of the 12th house cusp. Mercury is the focal planet involved in a t-square between Mars in Virgo opposite the conjunction of Neptune, black moon Lilith ( the shadow), and Chiron (wounding) in Aquarius. The afflictions taking place with the outer planets hold special significance throughout history and augers times of discontent among the people, disasters, wars, rebellions, and deep financial difficulties. Having Saturn posited in the 4th house poorly aspected is most unfortunate for the masses of people, land, property, and can be an indicator of earthquakes, and the falling of buildings. Also, Saturn, being in opposition to the conjunction of Uranus and Jupiter at the Aries point degree is especially difficult indicating troubles and disasters besetting the government. According to H.S. Green, Saturn also signifies the land, landowners, and buildings underscoring the already highlighted 4th house difficulties. All in all, this chart spells T-R-O-U-B-L-E ahead for the country.

Relocating the New Moon chart to Los Angeles, yields a 27 Taurean Ascendant conjunct with fixed star Algol. Algol is consider the most evil star in the heavens with a notorious reputation for causing misfortune and violence. However, it is the IC/MC axis at Leo/Aquarius 8 that is most striking. The progressed Pluto of the LA chart is at 8 Aquarius! Here, Pluto is in the 8th house at 4 Capricorn involved in the t-square between the conjunction of Uranus and Jupiter in the 11th, and Saturn in the 5th. Considering LA is the capital of the movie industry, having Saturn in affliction posited in this house is not good for the movie industry. However, it is postively aspected by Venus in the 3rd at 27 Cancer ruling the 1st and 6th houses, so there is something good that may come out of this New Moon. The Sabian symbol for this degree as described by Linda Hill's book states, "An Indian girl introduces her college boyfriend to her assembled tribe". What this could possibly signify -should there be a disaster- are people banning together to offer assistance on a day by day basis. Venus is the forms the closest aspect in this chart other than the conjunction between Uranus and Jupiter. Jupiter is ruling the 8th house in this chart, in trine to Venus could bring money in the form of aid relief, but poorly aspected otherwise to the outer planets could mean heavy debts, and a number of deaths. The New Moon takes place in the 1st house, under heavy affliction, and rules the 4th (a fixed sign) underscoring more problems related to land, the people, the government, and property interests. The Vertex lives in the 6th house at 27 Libra. Again, reading Ms. Hill's Sabian symbol for this degree, " A man alone is deep gloom, unnoticed, angels are coming to his aid" speaks volumes if it is to be a meeting with fate. The keywords she gives for this symbol are: help in times of need, salvation vs. depression, helpers arriving just when they are needed on the positive side; and misery, gloom, doom, losing faith in things getting better, and feeling like no one cares or is listening on the not so positive side. Having the vertex sitting in the 6th house governing over helpers, workers, and the armed and civil services with this Sabian symbol degree paints a pretty realistic picture of what occurs when disaster strikes. So far, the picture for this lunation period is not looking so bright. I would like to continue on, but this posting is getting very long so I will end it here for now to continue the story of the upcoming eclipses in my next posting.
