Danger of a Serious Quake Late November-Early December 2010 for Southern California and Baja California

This is a notice about the potential for a quake affecting the Southern California region in the next several days.  With the upcoming eclipse of December 21, 2010 taking place at 29 Gemini affecting the Progressed Uranus aspects in the Los Angles chart, it is likely the energy and affects of that eclipse are felt up to 6 weeks prior to the event.  Thus, a quake can take place prior to the eclipse.  The Baja region of California has been active all year with many aftershocks in the wake of the 7.2 Easter 2010 quake.  This region remains a threat as well as Southern California.

In the next few days, the transits of the Node, Pluto, Venus, Apollon, Saturn, Neptune, Chiron, and Mercury are stimulating sensitive areas in the Radical and Progressed Los Angeles chart.  So let's take a look.

The transiting South Node is conjunct with the Uranus and square to the  Moon opposition Neptune and Venus.  This transit activates the t-square ruling the houses connected to these planets.  Those houses are the AC angle, the 4th house, the 5th house, and the MC angle.  Transiting Pluto also activates the t-square by an exact square to Neptune.
Transiting Venus is square to the IC/MC axis at 29 Libra activating the eclipse of July 2009 that eclipsed these same angles.  Transiting Mercury will be stimulating the 29th degree of Sagittarius that activates the upcoming eclipse of December 21, 2010 and opposes the Progressed Uranus of the LA chart (not shown here).  Transit Saturn is square to Mars at 17 Capricorn which was eclipsed in July of 2009.  Transiting Neptune and Chiron are stimulating Mercury at 27 Leo by opposition.  The Transiting Apollon is conjunct the South Node in the 1st amplyfing the affect of an event for the region.

The positions of Transiting Jupiter, Lilith, and Mars can been seen to be stimulating positions in the Progressed Chart below.
It's in the Progressed LA chart where we can see Transiting Lilith conjunct with the Progressed MC angle, Transiting Jupiter activating the Progressed Venus grand cross aspects along with the Transiting Pluto at 4 Capricorn on the DC angle. In fact, the Transiting Pluto, Node, Mercury, and Mars are all stimulating the Progressed grand cross aspects.
In addition, Transiting Mars will be square to Transiting and Uranus, a combo associated with sudden explosive/violent events.

With all this stimulation, the likelihood of a strong quake is significantly elevated.  The possible times for a quake to occur are as follows:
When the Moon transits :

  • The degrees of 12 Virgo conjunct the Radical Sun
  • The eclipse degrees of 13-15 Virgo/Pisces,
  • 16-18  Virgo conjunct with the Progressed IC angle onward to the eclipse degree of 18 Virgo,
  • 23-24 Virgo in opposition of the Transiting Jupiter and Uranus and Progressed Mercury in the eclipse degree 24 Virgo
  • When the Moon moves into the last 2 degrees of Virgo squaring the Progressed grand cross aspects of Jupiter, Uranus, Saturn  that are straddling the Progressed AC/DC angles and also being stimulated by the Transiting Mercury, Mars, Node. and Pluto.*** ( ***the most likely as the Moon is also square to the upcoming eclipse)
By November 30, 2010 the Moon will move into the sign of Libra and square the early cardinal degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, and Aries.  The Transiting Moon will square the Transiting Nodes and Transiting Pluto that are stimulating the Progressed AC/DC angles, the eclipse degree of 4-5 Capricorn from the June 2010 lunar eclipse, and the Radical t-square between Radical Venus, Neptune, Uranus, and the Moon.  So the time period for a potential quake to hit is spread out over the next several days into early December.

The Lunar Eclipse of December 21, 2010 and Southern California

Eclipse season is just around the corner with only one month to go before lunar eclipse of December 21, 2010 takes place at 29 Gemini.  The eclipse takes place at 12:14 am PST in Los Angeles with the Winter Solstice taking place shortly thereafter.  It is the third of five full moons forming at the very last degree of a sign.  The 29th degree of any sign is known as the anaretic degree.  This degree is a bit unstable, considered to be weak as any planet or point in this degree is about to undergo change into the next sign.  Whenever an eclipse comes along to a planet in this degree it gets then energy wagging and will stimulate the positive and negative characteristics of the planet.  This is about to be the case for the December 21, 2010 eclipse touching Uranus in the Progressed LA chart at 29 Gemini.

The Progressed LA chart set for the date of the eclipse follows.

There are several transits to the eclipse degrees in this chart as well as the eclipse taking place on the Progressed Uranus.  The Grand Cross in this chart affecting Uranus, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Mercury, and Neptune become sensitized to upcoming transits thus having the potential to set things off.  In June, 2010 the Lunar Eclipse of 4-5 Capricorn hit on the Progressed DC/AC axis sensitizing this angle to upcoming transits of which is being transited by Pluto in a critical degree indicating stress and climax for these houses. Since the 1st and 7th houses are connected in adverse aspect to planets ruling the 4th and 10th houses (Mercury and Neptune), it's affecting all angles.  The Radical LA chart had the IC/ MC eclipsed exact by the Solar Eclipse of July 21, 2009 at 29 Cancer hitting directly on the MC.  The angles and degrees of these eclipses (29 Cancer and 29 Gemini, 4-5 Capricorn)are vulnerable to upcoming transits.  The transits to other previous eclipses are similarly affected.  On the date of the eclipse Mars is transiting the eclipse degree of 10 Cancer/Capricorn and Venus is stimulating the eclipse of 13-14 Aquarius by square.
The transit of Saturn at 16 Libra conjunct the South Node within 5 minutes of exact in the 4th house is rather disturbing especially after the 7.2 Easter Baja quake had the Sun transiting square to the Nodes.

Yet there is more going on as evidence in the Radical LA chart (not shown).  The Transiting South Node is in conjunction with the Radical Uranus.  Uranus in conjunction with the South Node can bring about very sudden and uncertain incidents that tend to be of some disadvantage. Transiting Apollon, which I have recently discovered to be active in major events:including volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, etc. is in conjunction with the Radical LA node at 26-27 Libra.  Apollon, a TransNeptunian Planet, is thought to rule most forms of expansion,  like Jupiter only more so.  It could be the expansion of luck, knowledge, the earth,  or magma, etc.  Having Apollon transit such a sensitive point in the LA chart adds to possibility of an important event affecting the city and it's inhabitants.  The nodes are thought to represent the cosmic forces showing karma at work.  The ancient astrologers used them to forecast eclipses, thus holding an important power in the chart.

As for the eclipse itself, the path of eclipse is well placed for observers in North America, especially Southern California and Baja.  The link to the NASA eclipse website is below
http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse.html
It is believed that the path of the eclipse reveals where the greatest effects of the eclipse will be felt making this total lunar eclipse especially important for Southern California.

If we take a look at the astrocartography chart for this eclipse, we can see that California  has a Pluto and Nodal IC line crossing through and close by the city of Los Angeles. It's very likely that we can expect to hear news about this region for the next month.  With Pluto IC lines, there could be significant changes in the region where they pass through. A Mars IC line passes through Baja California up through Phoenix and Salt Lake City indicating there could be some trouble affecting these areas as well.

Overall, I think there is a very strong possibility for a serious earthquake affecting Southern California/ Baja in connection with this eclipse. The timing of an event is a bit more difficult as the Transiting Moon is stimulating a number of placements so close together, but the likelihood of an event is significantly increased in the days and hours surrounding the eclipse. It could be just a few hours after the eclipse on the morning of December 21, 2010 as the transiting Moon moves into exact conjunction with the transiting South Node and Pluto or up to a few days later as the Moon transits the eclipse of 29 Cancer, moving onward to oppose the Radical 4th house Pluto at 4 Aquarius or the Progressed Pluto at 8 Aquarius.

It's time to prepare. Above all--Relax (this is a forecast using an experimental technique, not an absolute), don't stress, but be ready just in case.

A Potential Increase for Southern California

It's that time again when significant transits are made to positions in the LA chart, Radical and Progressed, that have the potential to increase seismic activity. In the next several days, especially on November 13 and 14, 2010, the Sun will transit to 21 Scorpio to conjunct  LA's Radical Jupiter and the current position of the Progressed Vertex ( a point of destiny).  This transit also squares the eclipse degree of 21 Leo from 2009.

Recently, I have discovered that TNP Apollon is very active in quake charts and lies at the heart of the current eruptions of Mount Merapi.  More on that in a later posting as I am still watching and waiting.

What concerns me with the LA chart and transiting Apollon is the Radical node of LA lives at 26-27 Libra where Apollon is currently transiting.  Apollon is believed to be connected with all forms of expansion and quite possibly the expansion of luck.  If one considers expansion from the perspective of the land especially around Southern California, then the expansion of movement of the land could be viewed as a lucky break to release a build up of tension.

Anyway, there is the possibility during this time period and increase in seismic activity.  I'm unsure about a significant quake of 5.0 or greater because the lineup of the outer planets are not specifically stimulating the eclipse degrees.   There is a Pluto/Node conjunction that was exact on November 9, 2010 and shows up in the 5th house of the New Moon chart set for Washington D.C. pointing to some developments in matters relating to entertainment ( one possibility might concern Los Angeles as  it is the entertainment capital).  Let it also be noted that Venus and Jupiter turn direct on November 18, 2010.

As always, keep an eye out and have a plan just in case, but don't let anything stop you from going about your normal activities.

Increased Risk for Southern California

There is an increased risk for seismic activity in the Southern California region at this time as the Node is transiting the eclipse degree of 4 Capricorn and the Progressed AC/DC angle of the Los Angeles chart.

Most of the seismic activity has hit south of the border in Baja California since the 7.2 Easter quake and it's quite likely this is the region that will be most active during this time.  The most recent 6.7 quake hit off the coast in Southern Baja on October 21, 2010 at 11:53 am. I have found in my research, seismic activity in Baja California relates more to the transits of the California chart rather than the chart of Mexico even though Baja is technically part of Mexico.

Libra New Moon period and the chart of Los Angeles

I'm not quite sure what to make of the Libra New Moon period in terms of seismic activity in California.  Last month, the Los Angeles chart was the recipient of many transits and yet none of them produced what I would consider significant quake activity of 5.0 or greater.  This I believe is largely due to the Radical and Progressed Nodes in the charts of Los Angeles and California not getting stimulation from any transits.  The New Moon in Libra has the Sun transiting the Progressed South Node within a two degree orb.  I cannot say whether or not the upcoming transit of the Sun over this point will set off quake activity, but there is always the possibility since this is the third of 3 consecutive "Super Moons" where the Moon is at perigee (closest to the Earth) and in conjunction with the Sun, creating added stress to planet Earth.

This Libra New Moon chart set for Washington DC has the Ascendant opposite the eclipse degree of 19 Cancer with Taurus on the 4th house cusp, Venus ruling.  Venus is place in the 10th house conjunct with Mars in Scorpio, but there is not really much in the way of major aspects to this configuration and no planets occupying the 4th house.  According to the astrologer Raphael, earthquakes happen more frequently when planets are in the signs of Taurus and Scorpio, especially Uranus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars.  Of these, only Mars is in Scorpio.  Is it enough?  All I can really say is the Radical Mars of the Los Angeles chart at 17 Capricorn was eclipsed opposite the July 7, 2010 Solar Eclipse and is now in conjunction with the Radical Los Angeles chart rulerVenus. Transiting Venus also turns retrograde on October 8th, so it bears watching.

The Sun, at 14 Libra, during this New Moon will be square to the eclipse of July 7, 2009 and trine to the eclipse of August 6, 2009 but more importantly, it is in conjunction with the Progressed 4th South Node in the Los Angeles chart by a two degree orb.
Here is the Progressed Los Angeles chart for October 9, 2010 when the Transiting Sun hits the Progressed South Node, conjoins with Progressed Fortuna, and squares the eclipses of 15 Capricorn, 19 Cancer, and the Radical Mars of LA.
Both Transiting Venus and Mars are square to the Progressed Moon at 12 Leo.  Transiting Venus at 13 Scorpio is square to the eclipse of August 6, 2009 at 13-14 Aquarius and Transiting Mars is conjunct and opposite the eclipses of May 4, 2004 and November 9, 2003.  The only other two planets in eclipse degrees are Saturn at 8 Libra is opposite the the Solar Eclipse of March 29, 2006 and Mercury which is square to the eclipse at 10 Cancer.

The Transiting Node is not in an eclipse degree but it is square the Progressed 4th house Neptune and Progressed 10th house Mercury.  The Transits of the Uranus and Jupiter are not in eclipse degrees at this time, which I feel lessens the chance of a significant quake, but they are still in transiting square to the Progressed Jupiter, Uranus, and Saturn.

One thing that is different this month than last, is Transiting Apollon, a TransNeptunian Planet having to do with expansion (not shown), is at 27 Libra, in exact conjunction with the Radical Node of Los Angeles.  Not having worked with Apollon before, I am curious to know what affect, if any, it will have.

A Moon Wobble Reminder for September 30, 2010

In a posting from September 10, 2010, I stated the possibility for seismic activity would be elevated during the time of the Moon Wobble.  Southern California has been under considerable transit activation for the entire month, but the addition of the Moon Wobble on September 30, 2010 increases the chance for activity.

However, the point of this blog is to look at and forecast seismic activity in California. This New Moon period has the potential to not only set off  explosions, but quakes too, as a Moon Wobble takes place at the end of September.

http://www.astrologycom.com/moonwobble.html

The Transiting Sun will be square to the Transiting Node at 7 Libra and Capricorn and the Transiting Sun will conjunct the Radical Venus. This Moon Wobble is also accompanied by the Transiting Saturn at 7 Libra. It is quite probable that there will be some moderate seismic activity in California around the time of this Moon Wobble as it activates Radical Venus and takes place in the Progressed 4th house of the Los Angeles chart. Transiting Mercury will be in the eclipse degree of 24 Virgo, Transiting Uranus will be in the eclipse degree of 28 Pisces, Saros Series 9NN. Transiting Mars will square the Progressed Pluto and Progressed Moon as will Transiting Venus.

Possible times for a quake to hit are when the Transiting Moon conjuncts Progressed Uranus at 29 Gemini ,but more likely when the Transiting Moon plugs into the Moon Wobble effect at 7** Cancer. Also likely times are when the Moon transits Radical Uranus at 2 Cancer, opposes the eclipse degree of 4 Capricorn and the Progressed Ascendant * quite likely, conjuncts eclipse degree of 10 Cancer, 15-17 Cancer in opposition to the Radical Mars or later when the Transiting Moon hits upon the eclipse degrees of 25-29 Cancer affecting the Radical IC/MC axis.
One possible time scenario for quake activity in California is in the morning hours of September 30, 2010.  Here is a corresponding chart.  Please keep in mind this is only a speculative guess, but the time chosen is based upon the Moon's transit hitting the Progressed Uranus of the Los Angeles Chart.
Example: 6:15 am - September 30, 2010

Still watching..

Although, the time period for the watch period of quake danger in Southern California has expired, I am still watching because the Transiting Moon is currently making it's way through Aries and transiting to conjoin the Progressed Node at 16 Aries, square to the Radical eclipsed Mars at 17 Capricorn, and square to the July 11, 2010 solar eclipse before it squares the Radical IC/MC Los Angeles axis.  Stay alert, but calm....
Times to watch:
4:52 PDT on September 24, 2010 when Transit Saturn squares the node and the eclipse degree of 21 Aquarius/Leo is on the AC/DC axis with the Transiting Moon square to the eclipse degree of 19 Cancer?

Update:
September 25, 2010  I may not have extended my forecast out long enough to incorporate the Transiting Moon to square the Radical IC/MC axis of the LA chart at 29 Cancer/Capricorn.  Today the Transiting Sun squares the Radical eclipsed Uranus in the LA chart at 2 Cancer while it also squares Transiting Pluto at 2 Capricorn.  In addition, Transiting Mercury is headed toward an exact conjunction with the Progressed IC angle of the LA chart.  So, until this passes, it's still watch time for seismic activity in Southern California/Baja. Then in a few days the Transiting Sun will square the Progressed AC angle of the LA chart and on September 30, 2010 the Moon Wobble is in effect as the Sun and Saturn transits to an exact square to the Transiting Node.

Chart to Watch--Japan

I thought I would post another chart to watch that has the potential for seismic activity during this month--Japan.  Japan's Radical Uranus was eclipsed on December 31, 2009 exact making this degree quite sensitive to transits. However, it is important to watch not only this degree, but the transits of this planet as well.  Currently, Transiting Uranus is conjunct with Jupiter at 28 Pisces, an eclipse degree, and is square to the Radical Moon at 28 Gemini.  This evening and tomorrow, the Transiting Sun will form an exact t-square between Transiting Uranus, Jupiter, and the Radical Moon.  The Progressed Moon has moved opposite the eclipse degree of 13-14 Aquarius and the Progressed Sun and Venus are opposite the eclipse degree of 4-5 Capricorn and are trine to Transiting Mars.  And there is more, The Radical Node at 27 Aquarius is receiving stimualtion from Transiting Neptune and Chiron that makes this chart important to watch because the Transiting Node at 8 Capricorn is square to the Progressed Saturn at 8 Libra repeating a theme in the overall pattern.  In the next few days, it will be of interest to watch as the Transiting Moon hits 27 Aquarius in conjunction with the Radical Node and moves forward to conjoin the Progressed AC at 8-9 Pisces, oppose the Progressed Vertex at 20 Virgo and finally moves into Aries where the Transiting Moon will square the Radical AC at 0 Capricorn.

Addendum to A Concern for Southern California

I would like to add to the forecast about seismic activity in California in September 2010.  As forecasted in my previous posting, a 5.0 quake did occur in the Southern California region just south of the border on September 14, 2010 at 3:52 AM PDT.  The quake occurred when the Transiting Moon at 12 Sagittarius squared the Radical Sun of the Los Angeles chart at 12 Virgo.  This was right within the time frame I laid out as a possible time for a quake to hit.  The quake was actually a stronger aftershock to the Easter 7.2 Baja Quake of 2010.

However, this month of September 2010 looks to be an active one for California, at least Southern California.  In addition to the September 13-16th time band, there are two other time bands that pose a danger.  I have written an earlier posting on the September 29-early October Moon Wobble time band as a time for seismic activity but there is another coming up in a week.  September 20-23, 2010 is another danger period for Southern California as the transits to Los Angeles chart will activate the progressed aspects.  I believe it is in this time period the potential for a stronger quake is heightened.  So let's take a look--

On September 20 and 21, 2010, the Transiting Sun at 28 Virgo moves into exact square with the Progressed Jupiter and opposes Transiting Jupiter in the eclipse degree of 28 Pisces in the late evening on the 20th and early morning hourson the 21st.  It is also on this day, the 21st, that Jupiter is at perigee with Earth making it's closest approach in a decade.  It is Jupiter in the Radical Los Angeles chart that the Progressed Vertex is conjunct, so all action points to Jupiter in the next week.  Having Jupiter in the lunar eclipse degree of Saros Series 9NN*, is quite unsettling as it is this eclipse described by Celeste Teal as having a connection with explosions and earthquakes. Transiting Jupiter is also in conjunction with Transiting Uranus adding to the potential for explosive shocks.
Mercury will be transiting square to the Radical Vertex at 10 Gemini and squares the Progressed Mars at 11 Gemini.  Once again, the Vertex is quite active.  We now have the Radical Vertex receiving a square and the Progressed Vertex conjunct Radical Jupiter with the Solar Arc Vertex (not shown) conjunct with the Radical IC emphasizing a potential predestined event.  It does not help the situation, to have the Transiting Venus square to the Progressed Pluto at 8 Aquarius and Transiting Mars square to the Radical 4th house Pluto at 4 Aquarius.  Radical Pluto was eclipsed within orb by the January 26, 2009 Solar Eclipse.  Transiting Saturn will be conjunct with the Progressed 4th house Neptune at 6 Libra and opposes the Progressed Mercury at 5 Aries and squares the Transiting Node at 8 Capricorn.
As for the outer planets, the t-square remains in effect only now both Transiting Uranus and Jupiter are exactly square to Progressed Jupiter at 28 Sagittarius and both are in the Solar Eclipse degree of 28 Pisces, Saros Series 9NN*, the physically expressive series.

So if we look at the Transiting Moon, the morning hours of September 21st have the Moon in Pisces.
Time periods for a potential quake are as follows:

September 20-23

  • Moon transits 5 Pisces in conjunction with the lunar eclipse of August 28, 2007
  • Moon transits 10-13 Pisces in opposition to Transiting Mercury at 10 Virgo, square to the Radical Vertex at 10 Gemini, square to Progressed Mars at 11 Gemini, opposite to Radical Sun at 12 Virgo, and square to Radical Saturn at 13 Sagittarius and opposite the lunar eclipse of March 3, 2007 at 13 Virgo ++ quite likely
  • Moon transits to the lunar eclipse degree of 15 Pisces and conjuncts the Progressed MC at 16 Pisces
  • Moon transits opposite the solar eclipse of 18 Virgo
  • Moon transits to 24 Pisces conjunct the Progressed Venus and opposite the lunar eclipse at 24 Virgo
  • Moon transits 28-29 Pisces to conjunct Transiting Jupiter and Uranus, oppose the Transiting Sun at 28 Virgo, and square the Progressed Jupiter involved in a Progressed Grand Cross ++ also quite likely
  • Moon transits to 1-4 square to the Progressed Saturn at 1 Capricorn, square to Radical Uranus at 2 Cancer, conjunct the Radical Moon at 3 Aries, and square to the Progressed AC at 4 Cancer
The Aries New Moon takes place on September 23, 2010 at 2:18am PDT and the Autumnal Equinox takes place on September 22, 2010 making this time band is an active one.

It's the time to be vigilant and keep your eye on Jupiter as September 21st draws closer.
* According to astrologer and author Bernadette Brady

A concern for Southern California

There is a concern for Southern California I've been mulling over for the last couple of weeks, but have been unsure whether or not to express it.  Alas, here it is. It involves the Los Angeles chart from now into early October.  In addition to the Moon Wobble effect taking place at the end of September, there is a concern involving the time span over the next few days because of the transit stimulation to eclipse degrees and positions in the Los Angeles chart and the experimental San Andreas chart.  Let's take a look.
In the next few days, the transits of Jupiter and Uranus will once again be square to the Progressed Jupiter and Saturn and Uranus across the AC/DC axis.  Both Transiting Jupiter and Uranus will be stimulating the eclipse degrees of 29 Virgo and 28 Pisces but now Transiting Saturn is added into the mix stimulating the Progressed 4th house Neptune which puts enormous strain on this chart.  In addition, Transiting Mars will be in opposition to Progressed Sun and Transiting Venus feeds energy into the Progressed AC, squares the Radical 4th house Pluto at 4 Aquarius while stimulating the lunar eclipse degrees of 5 Taurus and 4 Scorpio form 2004 and 2005. Radical Pluto was eclipsed in 2009 from the Solar eclipse of January 26th.  Yet, there is more...

Transiting Neptune and Chiron have retrograded back to 26-27 Aquarius and oppose Radical Mercury at 27 Leo.  The Transiting Sun has entered the Progressed 4th house, and will stimulate the eclipse degrees of  22-24 Virgo.  Yet, it is the Progressed Vertex at 21 Scorpio that has formed an exact conjunction with the Radical Jupiter that concerns me the most as the Transiting Sun will sextile this position in the next or two and will be in conjunction with the malefic fixed star Denebola.  (In addition, the Solar Arc Vertex in the LA chart has finally become exact with the 4th house cusp at 29 Capricorn in opposition to the eclipsed Radical MC at 29 Cancer.)  The Vertex is a point that has much to do with appointments of destiny.  In my research, I have found it to be quite active in the charts of earthquakes.

With all of this activity going on the potential for seismic activity is heightened.  To pinpoint a time for a potential  quake, we have look to the Transiting Moon now that other planetary transits are in place.   Some of those times follows:

September 13-16
  • Moon transiting opposite Radical Vertex at 10 Gemini
  • Moon transiting in conjunction with Radical Saturn at 13 Sagittarius squaring the Radical Sun at 12 Virgo and stimulating the March 3, 2007 lunar eclipse
  • Moon transiting 28-29 Sagittarius stimulating the eclipses of March 19, 2007 and September 22, 2006 at 28-29 Pisces/Virgo, Saros 9NN* and 8S* ( dealing with physical expression and loss) and the Progressed Aspects of Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus.+++ a good candidate
  • Moon transiting the Progressed AC/DC in the lunar eclipse degree of 4 Capricorn....another good candidate
  • Moon transiting in conjunction with the Transiting Node at 8-9 Capricorn.
  • Moon transiting in conjunction with the Radical Mars at 17 Capricorn and opposite the eclipse degree of 19 Cancer
  • Moon transiting the eclipse degrees of 25-26 Capricorn squaring the Radical AC and Node at 26 Libra
  • Moon transiting opposite the eclipse degree of 29 Cancer in conjunction with the Radical IC.
Note as well, the Moon reaches it maximum south declination peak during this period and Pluto turns direct on September 14, 2010 at 6:07 PDT and opposes Radical Uranus at 2 Cancer.

There is one more chart I am currently testing and that's the experimental San Andreas Chart.  Since the chart is set for noon, time unknown, I cannot use the angles or points in the chart, but the Radical Sun in this chart is at 8 Cancer, currently conjunct with the Transiting South Node. Then there is the Transiting Saturn stimulating the Radical Node at 5 Aries.  Right now, it's a wait to see if there will be any activity on the fault line to know whether or not this chart can be used.  The lunar eclipse of December 31, 2009 hit within orb of the Radical Sun in this chart but whether or not it is actually close enough to have an effect is another thing.  As this chart stands currently, the only eclipses to touch on planets are the upcoming solar eclipse of July 1, 2011 at 9 Cancer when Saturn will be transiting square to the lunar eclipse of 10 Cancer and the lunar eclipse of December 10, 2011 touching Radical Jupiter within a 1 to 2 degree orb. I'll be watching to see what happens.

Moon Wobble Affecting the Los Angeles Chart

Yesterday, September 9, 2010 was California's birthday and went out with a bang!  In a previous posting, I noted a very dangerous set up for the California due for some seismic event or otherwise.  Turns out, it was a massive gas line explosion in San Bruno, California overnight.  The transits for the event match up very well with the Radical and Progressed Chart of California. Also, the New Moon astrolocality chart has a Mars IC line going through San Francisco showing signs of trouble. Once again, things happen when planets line up in the eclipse degrees affecting the charts of nations and states.  Here's a look at the Radical California Chart for yesterday's event. The explosion happened when the Transiting Moon hit 10 Libra activating the Radical Mars/Mercury opposition to Radical Saturn, conjunct the Progressed Venus and squaring the lunar eclipse degree of 10 Cancer and the Transiting Node at 9 Capricorn.

Possible times for a quake to hit are when the Transiting Moon conjuncts Progressed Uranus but more likely when the Transiting Moon plugs into the Moon Wobble effect at 7** Cancer.

The 7.2 Easter Baja Quake Analysis

At last, the promised analysis of the 7.2 Easter Baja Quake is ready.  It's been quite a wait, I know, but I am putting it up now.  One of the issues involving the analysis of this quake was choosing between the Mexico national chart or the California chart.  I decided to use the California chart as Baja is known as Baja CALIFORNIA. If the quake had struck south of the border where it connects the main body of Mexico, it would be different.  So, with this in mind, let's start with the California Chart. One of the  first things I check in any chart for events are the eclipses that have touch on important placements in the last few years.  This chart had an eclipse to Radical Lilith on January 26, 2009, Solar eclipse, associated Saros Series11N*.  The Radical Node at 14 Leo was opposite the lunar eclipse of August 6, 2009.  In 2005, Radical Saturn received a direct hit on Radical Saturn, from the solar eclipse of April 8th. Finally, the Radical Neptune was eclipsed on August 28, 2007, a direct hit.  These are all going to be sensitive points to watch and the transits of these planets become important as well as they move around the chart making aspects to radical and progressed positions and even to other transiting planets.  Eclipses make things happen when planets make contact with them. In this case, the transits of the Node, Lilith, and Saturn are to be watched carefully.

The 7.2 quake hit near Mexicali, just south of the border in Baja California on April 4, 2010.  The quake took place during the time of a Moon Wobble, when the Sun and Node form a 90 degree, a.k.a. a square aspect to one another.  A very good article to read about this phenomena is on Rob Tillet's website http://www.astrologycom.com/moonwobble.html   However, a moon wobble alone won't tell us why a quake happened in a particular region.  For that information, we have to examine the charts of places.  In examination of this chart, we can see Transit Saturn forming a conjunction with Radical Jupiter in a 0 Cardinal degree and making a hard adjustment to Transiting Chiron.  The Transiting Moon is seen in this chart to be forming a trine with Radical Saturn but at the actual time of the quake it was at 28 Sagittarius thus forming a trine to Radical Pluto and Uranus but squaring the Radical Jupiter and Transiting Saturn.  The Transiting Moon acts as the hour timer in event charts, especially quake charts!  In this case, it was forming aspects to Radical and Progressed planets and squaring the Solar Eclipse of March 19, 2007, Saros Series 9NN*, the physically expressive series implicated a number of California quakes. Transiting Pluto is making easy aspects to the AC/DC axis, Radical Neptune, and transiting Venus, but not all easy aspects are necessarily good.  Pluto's energy can be excessive, destructive as well as transforming. In this case, Pluto's destructive, yet transforming energy is feeding into the Radical trine between the AC at 5 Scorpio and the 4th house Radical Neptune at 5 Pisces (an eclipsed planet and degree) when the Transiting Venus and Mercury are activating the opposition between Radical Pluto, Radical Uranus on the DC and the Radical Moon and Venus on the AC increasing the stress dramatically.  In addition to all of this, it didn't help that Transiting Venus was in opposition to the Lunar Eclipse of April 24, 2005!
The Transiting Node is forming a trine aspect to the Radical Sun at 16 Virgo and is conjunct with the eclipse degree of 15 Capricorn from the July 7, 2009 Lunar Eclipse, Saros Series 11S*.  Bernadette Brady describes this 11S series as a need to make sudden changes, with any blockages violently or tragically removed.  As stated above, the Moon Wobble was in effect during this time of this quake but even more interesting, is another recent finding when I began reviewing all the major quakes and eruptions of 2010--in the 7.2 Easter Baja quake chart, the Vertex of that event was at 16 Capricorn, conjunct with the Transiting Node and the eclipse degree and square to the Transiting Sun and trine to the Radical Sun of the California chart.  Also the quake chart has the Part of Fortune at 16 Taurus trine to this configuration. A Grand Trine formed between the Radical Sun, the Quake Part of Fortune, the Transiting Node, and the Quake Vertex.  May it also be noted that 16 Taurus is an eclipse degree from November 9, 2003, Saros Series 5S*, associated with a peak experience as described by B. Brady.  It may have been a joyful experience for the earth to move and release some stress, but certainly not for the inhabitants living on her crust in that region.

Moving on, Transiting Lilith was at 20 Aquarius, within orb of opposition to the Lunar Eclipse of February 9, 2009 and trine to the Radical Vertex.  Transiting Neptune wasn't making any special aspect to the Radical CA chart but that changes when looking at the Progressed California chart as it forms an opposition to the Progressed Sun.  Transiting Jupiter made an opposition to the Radical Sun at 16 Virgo and was opposite the eclipse degree of 18 Virgo, Saros Series 9NS* and square to the Radical Vertex of the California chart. I am finding the Vertex to be very useful in terms of when events happen.  The Vertex represents a point of fatedness or destiny which we have no control over and it's always active in quake charts, either by transit stimulation, progression, or solar arc.  In this case, it's stimulated by transit to the Radical position in the California chart and square to an eclipse degree, by progression to the Radical Node then activated by transit stimulation, and in the actual quake chart.
Transiting Uranus, is within less than a 1 degree orb of the Solar Eclipse at 28 Pisces, Saros Series 9NN*.  This particular eclipse is implicated very strongly in the Oil Rig disaster in Gulf of Mexico off Louisiana in April 2010.  Celeste Teal gave an excellent description of this eclipse in her book on Eclipses.  She has associated this eclipse with wasted resources, fires and/or explosions, and with earthquakes which has proven to be the case!  With Uranus, the planet of shock and sudden events, on this degree, it couldn't be any more accurate.
The Transiting Sun was forming a Moon Wobble in conjunction with squaring the eclipse degree of 15 Capricorn on the date of the quake along with a conjunction to the Radical Saturn at 19 Aries and in opposition to the Progressed Vertex at 14 Libra.
Lastly, we have the Transiting Mars coming into opposition with the Radical Lilith ( the dark moon point associated with the shadow in natal astrology) previously eclipsed on January 26, 2009.  Transiting Mars is also square to Transiting Venus and Mercury, trine to Radical Chiron, but most importantly, in conjunction with the Progressed Node sitting in the Progressed 4th house.  I haven't found too much information on Lilith's effects in Mundane Astrology, but it seems to be pointing at behind the scenes, shadow issues and when stimulated by eclipse or progression, those shadow issues are brought into focus.  Some might say, it's a point of bad luck, but I think it's bad only if you choose to ignore it, then the issues associated Lilith's placing fester and erupt to the point where it cannot be ignored any longer.  Unfortunately, in terms of Lilith's mundane application in quake charts, it's not too good.  It's too easy to forget we live on a fragile crust.

Here is the Progressed Chart of California on the date of the Easter Baja Quake.  I've already mentioned above some of the aspects that formed to set things off, but here's where you can actually see Transiting Mars making a conjunction with the Progressed Node in opposition to the Lunar Eclipse of January 26, 2009 from the 4th house dealing with weather/earth related events and squaring the Progressed Part of Fortune.  The AC/DC axis is receiving stimulation.  Progressed Venus has moved into opposition with the Lunar Eclipse degree of 10 Cancer.  Progressed Mars is in the eclipse degree of 6 Aquarius.  The Transiting Sun is opposing the Progressed Vertex, forming a t-square with it and the Node stimulating the Lunar Eclipse degree of 15 Capricorn.  Transiting Saturn is trine to progressed Mercury activating the progressed adverse t-square.  The Transiting Moon in this chart shows the Moon's position at midnight universal time squaring Transiting Jupiter and trine to progressed Saturn but the timing of the quake happened when the Transiting Moon made a trine to Progressed Pluto and the Progressed Moon forming a grand trine.  However, since the Transiting Moon was square to Transiting Uranus in the 28 Pisces Solar Eclipse, the result was Boom! Quake!
Finally, there is the Easter Baja Quake chart below.

And so there it is..Why here?  Because the charts tell us so.  The eclipses, transits, and positions in the California chart all combined together to set off the charges in the form of progressed aspects.  The Transiting Moon is the hand that presses down on the lever to set off the charges that were building up for years.

Something new discovered--and Review of 2010 Major Quakes

I've been reviewing the major quakes of 2010: Haiti, Chile, Baja, New Zealand, and the volcanic eruptions of Indonesia and Iceland and will start to post what I've found regarding the timing of these events over the next few weeks, including my earlier promise of posting information on the Easter Baja Quake.  I'm still working on charts, but I want to post a potential seismic danger period for Southern California extending through Sept 16, 2010.

Some thoughts about the days up to the New Moon in Virgo and Quakes

More than likely you've heard about the 7.0 Christchurch Earthquake in New Zealand.  This quake had me very curious about the connections of the chart of New Zealand and the timing of the quake to see what more I could learn to improve quake forecasting and make revisions to my work-in-progress model.

The New Zealand quake hit the south island of New Zealand at 4:35am local time when the Moon was transiting 5 Cancer.  Jamie Funk posted an article about this quake on his website at http://www.funkastrology.co.uk/.  He points out at the time the quake hit the AC of the quake was at the same degree of the July11, 2010 quake and the tip of the eclipse path touches the northern tip of New Zealand.  I found this intriguing, but I wish to add more.  The August New Moon astrolocality chart shows a Uranus IC line very close to the southern island of New Zealand and yet there is more....

This nation's chart from Nick Campion's book of charts has the Sun at 26 Capricorn and was eclipsed on January 15, 2010.  As the chart is set for midnight, I cannot reliably use the angles of the chart but at the time of the quake, transiting Venus came into square with the eclipsed Sun at 26 Libra.  The Moon was transiting opposite the radical Mercury and Chiron with a 1 degree orb of the lunar eclipse of June 26, 2010 and squaring transiting Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter, and Pluto.  The transiting South Node was in the eclipse degree of 10 Cancer from the lunar eclipse of December 31, 2009.  The transiting Sun and Mercury were opposite the radical Neptune and transiting Lilith.  So once again, the eclipse degrees are shown to be very active in the charts of earthquakes.
This has got me thinking about the chart of Los Angeles once again as it is receiving a lot of transit stimulation to radical positions.  Let's take a look, shall we?

I've selected the date of September 8, 2010 for transits as this is when the transits of Mars and Venus hit radical positions in the LA chart.  The radical AC and South Node of this chart at 26 Libra is currently being transited by Venus square to the Solar eclipse of January 2010 but that eclipse did not hit any positions in this chart.  However, the Solar eclipse of July 21, 2009 did hit directly on the MC and is still an active sensitize point.  In previous years, the Sun at 12 Virgo was eclipsed on March 3, 2007 and is still active for another year or so according to Celeste Teal's book on Eclipses along with the other two eclipses at 18 Virgo, 15 Pisces, and 4-5 Pisces so these degrees are still sensitive to transit activation.  The Sun is currently transiting over the Radical Sun and will soon make it's way to conjunct the progressed IC at 16 Virgo and transit the eclipse degree of 18 Virgo when transiting Mars will move into transit square with the eclipse degree at 25 Capricorn and conjunct the Radical AC and South Node.  At the same time, transiting Venus will move into square with the eclipse degree of 29 Cancer.  Transiting Saturn squares the lunar eclipse of June 26, 2010 at 4 Libra which was visible in California and happens to square the AC/DC progressed
axis.  The transiting Node squares the radical Venus, the chart ruler for LA within a 2 degree orb.  So the potential exists for a quake to occur in this chart but what about the astrolocality chart?  The August New Moon chart in affect until the next New Moon on September 8, 2010 at 3:31 am PDT shows a Sun and Moon line passing through the Northern part of California up through Vancouver Canada.  It is possible but I cannot say with a degree of any certainty how probable it is as the Saturn and  Uranus ACG lines are more indicative of trouble in the regions they pass through.  If something is to occur, it i would be in the time frame of Sun transiting through the degrees of 12 Virgo through 18 Virgo when Venus, Mars, and Saturn make contact squares to the eclipse degrees and radical positions in the chart.  The Moon will be transiting the eclipse degree of 25 Capricorn/Cancer and 29 Cancer later today before it moves on to oppose radical and progressed Pluto and all the sensitive eclipse points in Leo/Aquarius, conjoin radical Mercury and then transit through the eclipse degrees of 1 Virgo, 4/5 Pisces/Virgo, and 12/13 Virgo before the Virgo New Moon.

A Dangerous Setup for the California Chart

The Summer eclipse season has come to an end, the Sun has ingressed into Virgo and the height of the Cardinal Crisis transits  of  2010 have passed, so what's next?  I've been thinking about this.  In the last few days, scientists have announced the San Andreas fault may rupture sooner rather than later as they have found more evidence of ancient quakes having taken place along the fault in shorter intervals ranging from every 44-150 years rather than the previous 200-300 year span.  So I took another look again at the California chart radical and the progressed to see what is going on and if possible to glean information of when a quake might occur.

As of today's date, August 24, 2010, the chart of California has a dangerous setup going on between the radical and progressed positions.
First, the MC/IC angle of both the radical and progressed positions have been eclipsed in the last two years and remain sensitive to upcoming transits.  The Progressed Node is square to the Radical AC angle.  The Progressed AC is involved in opposition to the Radical Venus and Moon. The Progressed Venus has moved into square with Radical Mars and Mercury and is currently receiving stimulation from the Transiting Node.  The Progressed Moon is forming a square to Radical Chiron.  Progressed Mars is coming into conjunction with Radical Lilith and Progressed Fortuna is square to the Radical MC/IC angle with Radical Fortuna in conjunction with Progressed Chiron.  Clearly, this chart is very active, so seismologists are on the right track warning the public that the San Andreas Fault could see a major rupture quite soon.  The main question is when.  What transit activation will set this chart off?

Today, August 24, 2010 is the Full Moon in Pisces taking place at 10:05 PDT.  This Full Moon stimulating the February 20, 2008 lunar eclipse at 1-2 Virgo.  This eclipse is still active until February 2011 and was partially seen in California.  The eclipse did not touch any planetary position in the California chart, so the effects are not as great as they would have been touching a position in the chart, yet it is still a sensitive point.  I cannot say I see any specific transit stimulation to this chart at this time, in the next few days both Transiting Mars and Venus will oppose Radical and Progressed Saturn at 17 and 19 Aries and square the Progressed MC/IC angle.  With the South Node currently transiting the eclipse of December 31, 2009 and square to Radical Mars and in opposition to Progressed Venus, will it be enough to set off the difficult aspects in this chart?  Or will it be later when the future eclipses land on positions in the Los Angeles and San Francisco charts.  Whatever the case may be, the California chart is too be watched very closely because something, whatever it is to be, is going to happen pretty soon in my opinion.

The Final Degrees of Leo

The Sun is now transiting the final five degrees of Leo and coming to a close of the eclipses on the Leo/Aquaruis axis. However, there are a few things to watch out for as the Sun moves through these degrees.
First is the New Moon of August 2010, set for Los Angeles.  The AC/DC axis for this New Moon is at 26  degrees Aquarius/Leo which the Sun will soon transit and we also have transiting Venus and Mars in square to the Node with the outer planets forming a t-square to one another. If something is going to happen in terms of seismic activity in California, it will be in the next few days as the Sun moves over the angle opposing Neptune and Chiron.

In looking at the Progressed California chart, the only potential flashpoint I see for trouble is the transiting Sun opposing the Progressed CA Sun and transiting Neptune, with the transiting Node passing over Progressed Venus to set things in motion.  Likely times would be when the Moon transits the early degrees of Capricorn  plugging into the current outer planet t-square formation of 2 Capricorn or in conjunction with the lunar eclipse degrees of 4-5 Capricorn.

Quick Post...San Francisco, California Updated

We are coming closer to the end of the eclipse season transits on the Leo/Aquarius axis, just another week and it should be done for this time period.

The Sun is coming into transit opposition with the lunar eclipse of Feb. 9, 2009 at 21 Aquarius ( Saros Series 11N), and conjunction with the radical San Francisco node at 21 Leo.  The probability of a potential quake isn't quite as high as it has been, it's still worth noting that these transits are taking place.  Nothing can be ruled out with the Cardinal Crisis transits going on currently and so close on the heels of a super new moon. The Moon will soon enter Libra to exacerbate the tension of the t-square crisis transits and touch Venus and Mars.

In the next several days, the Sun will transit opposite the eclipse degree of 24 Aquarius (Saros Series 10N) and oppose the Progressed CA Sun at 27 Aquarius.  It is on August 16, 2010 when Jupiter and Saturn will meet again in exact opposition at 1:46 PM PDTand the transiting Sun is at 24 Leo in opposition to the eclipse degree of August 16, 2008. While it's likely that not much will to come to pass in California , or so I hope, there is a concern as the transiting node comes into conjunction with the Progressed CA Venus--the Progressed CA chart ruler and square to the transiting Mars.

August Update

July saw the last Saturn-Uranus exact opposition on July 26, 2010 , Jupiter turned retrograde, and the solar eclipse of July 11, 2010 at 19 Cancer.  It was a very busy month.  Mars entered Libra on July 29th plugging into the Cardinal Climax transits between Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter, and Pluto in early Cardinal degrees.  However, there is still more to go...

This week finds Mars in closer opposition with Jupiter on August 3, then the second Jupiter-Pluto waxing square unfolds and the start of Venus transiting the same Cardinal Climax planets (August 7-9). Nor does it end there, for the following two weeks will find the 20-year opposition of Jupiter and Saturn, followed by the 32-37-year waning square of Saturn and Pluto.

I would love to write more but my time is very limited from a hectic schedule.
California is STILL on quake watch as the Sun transits the eclipses of 9-10 Leo/Aquarius hitting the Progressed LA Pluto and Moon, 13-14 Leo/Aquarius, and 17 Leo/Aquarius which is the exact degree the Super New Moon takes place and 21 Leo/Aquarius hitting the Radical San Francisco node.

I hope to have more of a detailed update when my schedule let's up.

The Days are Upon Us for More Activity

The planets are once again moving into eclipse degrees and that means it's time to be on alert again for possible increased seismic activity.
In a previous posting, I named a few dates and two of those dates are upon us--

July 21, 2010 and July 22, 2010 when the Sun is transiting the eclipse degree of 29 Cancer which is the Radical MC of the LA chart. Saturn makes her ingress into Libra where it will transit for the next 2 years.

However, in the next week or two, there are more dates to watch for seismic activity.
Those dates are:

July 25, 2010, full moon when the Moon transits the activation eclipse degrees of 25-29 Capricorn  and also 2-8 Aquarius and the Sun moves into transiting square with the Progressed CA Ascendant
July 26, 2010 when the Sun comes into orb with the Progressed Pluto of the LA chart at 4 Aquarius and  squares the progressed CA Ascendant at 3 Taurus; Moon transiting eclipse degrees of 6 Aquarius, opposite the eclipse of 9-10 Leo, 13-14 Aquarius, 17 Aquarius; Venus will be transiting the eclipse point of 18 Virgo; and Mars will be transiting opposite the eclipse of 28 Pisces.

***These are also dates that could indicate the current tropical depression Bonnie to develop into a hurricane hitting the Gulf of Mexico spill area.

This week and next is action packed with powerful aspects, Ingresses, and stations taking place.
  • Jupiter turns retrograde on July 23, 2010 at 3:54 am PDT.
  • Jupiter squares Pluto precisely on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 4:33 pm PDT.
  • The final exact Saturn-Uranus opposition occurs on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 10:08 am PDT.
  • Mercury enters its home sign of Virgo, July 27, 2010 at 2:43 pm PDT.
  • Mars enters Libra on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 4:47pm PDT and plugs into the Cardinal Crisis alignment.
  • Friday, July 30, 2010 is packed with activity as the Moon enters Aries at 1:42 pm PDT to conjoin transiting Uranus and oppose both transiting Mars and Saturn within hours.
This time period could be very active for seismic activity and really, all dates are implicated in some manner with all the planets lining up to make it the true climax of the Cardinal Crisis transits.

On July 29, 2010, the transiting Sun will conjunct the Progressed CA node in the 4th house opposite the Progressed Mars at 6 Aquarius ( the eclipse degree of January 26, 2009) that has the potential to set off the progressed aspects of Mars.  As the day progresses, Mars ingresses into Libra. Times for potential quake activity are:
when the Moon transits the eclipse degree of 15 Pisces-16 Pisces opposing the Radical Sun of the CA chart and 18 Virgo-20 Virgo when the Moon transits the eclipse degree and opposes transiting Venus.

July 30, 2010 will be an interesting day to watch as the Sun passes over in opposition to eclipse degree of 6 Aquarius, but the transiting Moon comes to join the Cardinal Climax party at 0 Aries in the afternoon with transiting Mars, Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter, and Pluto.

Dates Update

Now that I've had a little more time to review the California Chart in depth with a few other quakes, I would like to update the forecast of dates for seismic activity in California.

***July 12, 2010 when the Moon transits the eclipse degree range of 27-29 Cancer square to Progressed Uranus and Pluto; Mercury will be conjunct the Progressed Node at 5 Leo opposite Progressed Mars which is conjunct the eclipse degree at 6 Aquarius; Venus will be in the eclipse degree of 2 Virgo conjunct the Progressed Moon; Mars will coming into square with Progressed Chiron.  As the Moon moves toward the conjunction with the Progressed Node at 5 Leo it opposes Progressed Mercury at 0 Aquarius first.  A high danger date for a quake.
*July 13, 2010 when the Moon transits the Radical Node of the CA chart at 14 Leo, the eclipse degree of 21-22 Leo, or 24-25 Leo  opposite the Progressed Lilith at 25 Aquarius conjunct the eclipse degree at 24 Aquarius

***July 14, 2010 when the Moon transits opposite the Progressed Sun at 27 Aquarius and transiting Neptune at 28 Aquarius.  Also, when the Moon transits through the eclipse degrees of 2 Virgo conjunct transiting Venus at 4 Virgo opposite the eclipse degree at 4-5 Pisces.  This is yet another time period is highly implicated as the transiting Sun is square to Progressed Jupiter; Mercury is in an eclipse degree at 9 Leo; Venus is opposite an eclipse degree at 4-5 Virgo; and Mars is conjunct with fixed star Denebola ,square to Progressed Chiron with the outer planets involved in the T-square,  and the node is conjunct Progressed Venus.

As we move toward the end of the month and into August, I will update as needed as we are still in the height of the Cardinal Climax transits.

Most recently, I was reviewing the Easter Baja 7.2 quake and will probably put it up on the blog shortly.  There has been quite a lot of astrological analysis on that quake already, but not necessarily with an eye on the California chart which I will show.

Recent Activity and the Owen's Valley Quake Chart

In the last day or two, the Lone Pine area in California has been touched by minor quake activity so I thought we might visit the chart of one of the great earthquakes in California's history, the Owen's Valley Quake of
1872.  The quake hit Lone Pine, California at 2:35 am stopping clocks and shaking residents out of their beds on March 26, 1872.  It was a magnitude 7.4 destroying some 50 odd homes and killed 27 people. The region wasn't heavily populated at the time or it could have been much worse.

For more history on this quake, you can click on the link http://geology.com/earthquake/california.shtml

This chart features a grand cross across the AC/DC axis in  cardinal signs, involving 11 planets and planetary bodies and points.  WOW!
Yet, this configuration alone doesn't tell us why until we look at the eclipses.
  • On July 12, 1870 there was a lunar eclipse at 20 Capricorn--exact placement of Saturn opposite Jupiter square to Mercury exact and  Mars at 18 Aries which squares the two eclipse degrees of 20 Capricorn and a lunar eclipse at 16 Cancer of January 6, 1871.  Neptune and the Moon are also square to this same 20 Capricorn eclipse.
  • On June 28, 1870 a solar eclipse occurred at 7 Cancer--placement of fortuna square to the Sun
  • On January 17, 1870 a lunar eclipse at 27 Cancer --exact placement of Uranus
  • On August 29, 1867 a solar eclipse at 6 Virgo--opposite Venus
  • On November 11, 1863 a solar eclipse at 18 Scorpio--opposite the exact placement of Pluto
  • On August 18, 1868 a solar eclipse at 26 Leo--very close placement of the Vertex
  • On July 2, 1871 a lunar eclipse at 10 Capricorn--square to Chiron.
  • On January 6, 1871 a lunar eclipse at 16 Cancer--close to Lilith
  • And finally, one of the most important features, is the node.  The node at 13 Gemini is conjunct the lunar eclipse of December 6, 1862--Saros Series 9N--the physically expressive series according to Bernadette Brady.
  • The fourth house cusp at 15 Taurus is exactly square to solar eclipse of August 7, 1869.
Every planetary body and point position is this quake chart is effected by the eclipse degrees  that combined to create one of California's great historical earthquakes.

I included the transits for the upcoming eclipse tomorrow in the diagram to show that this quake chart is going to receive a hit to Radical Saturn.  The recent minor quakes in this region are not really a coincidence considering the quakes of the 1860's and 1870's are in similar degrees we are currently experiencing.

Now let's compare the transits of the quake on March 26, 1872 to the Progressed CA chart at the time of the quake.
What is immediately apparent are the transits to the progressed planet positions setting off the oppositions.  I've already listed above the transits of the planets but here is where the information is gleaned about the exact timing of the quake.

The quake occurred when the Moon transited exact to the Progressed CA Mercury at 22 Libra.

The Moon acts as the timer once the planets are in place.

So now, let's take a look at the Progressed Owen's Valley Quake to see what it reveals:

On January 15, 2010 a solar eclipse occurred eclipsing the progressed Mars by opposition.
The Progressed AC/DC axis  and Progressed Saturn are in an eclipse degree of 15 Cancer/Capricorn.
The Progressed Lilith is at an eclipse degree of 29 Cancer.
The Progressed 4th house cusp is in an eclipse degree of 29 Virgo where Saturn is currently transiting.
The Progressed Vertex is square to the transiting Lilith, Chiron and Mercury.
The Progressed Node is in an eclipse degree from the May 31, 2003 solar eclipse.

This is a chart to watch in the next couple of weeks as the transiting planets move into position. Will we see more activity as the Sun transits to the Progressed Mars or Progressed Lilith?  Perhaps...

Tense Days Ahead--some dates and times

California, don't think you can relax after that 5.4 quake.....the danger persists as the Sun heads toward the solar eclipse degrees of 25 Cancer and 29 Cancer.  The eclipse of July 21, 2009 at 29 Cancer hit directly on the MC of the Radical LA chart.  The danger from another quake still looms with the upcoming solar eclipse on July 11, 2010 as it eclipses the Radical Mars of the LA chart by opposition and the Progressed IC of the CA chart.  The new eclipse is also conjunct with the fixed star Castor described in mundane astrology as a wicked influence.

Some dates and times to watch are listed.  Most likely spot for a quake to hit is the triangular region around the Salton Sea,  San Jacinto and Cajon Pass area.

July 9. 2010** when the Moon transits square to transiting Mars around 17-18 Gemini and the Sun transits square to the Progressed CA Saturn at 17 Aries.  *Perhaps when the Moon transits 21 Gemini in opposition to the Progressed CA Chiron at 21 Sagittarius is another potential time.  Comet McNaught 2009 R1 was at this point at the time of the Cancer Ingress which rules for the 3 month period from June 21, 2010.

July 10, 2010*** when the Moon transits to 28-29 Gemini, 0-11 Cancer   ***All Day Long***  The lineup of planets in all charts has many placements in early cardinal degrees, therefore impossible to select one in particular.  Venus will be transiting the IC of the San Francisco chart at 28-29 Leo; Mars will be transiting the eclipse point of 18 Virgo; Saturn will be transiting the eclipse point of 29 Virgo; Jupiter will transit square the Radical Moon of the LA chart, Progressed LA AC angle, Radical LA Neptune, and Radical Jupiter of the San Francisco chart....

July 11, 2010***when the Moon transits 17 Cancer and continues through to the eclipse degrees of 25 and 29 Cancer.  The Sun activates the Progressed IC angle of the CA chart, Venus transits an eclipse degree, Mars is in an eclipse degree, Saturn is in an eclipse degree, and Mercury will be conjunct with the Radical LA Pluto eclipsed in 2009.

July 12, 2010*** when the Moon transits the eclipse degree of 29 Cancer early in the morning and then continues to 4 Leo opposite the Radical Pluto of LA and 5 Leo to the Progressed Node of the CA chart sitting in the 4th house* opposite the eclipsed Progressed Mars at 6 Aquarius.

July 17, 2010  and July 18, 2010 when the Moon transits the degrees of 16-29 Libra as there are many outer planet activations in the CA, LA, and SF charts.  Not as many activations for the other inner planets though.

July 21, 2010*** when the Moon transits 13 Sagittarius conjunct the Radical Saturn of LA and square to the eclipse degree of 13 Virgo and the Radical Sun of the LA chart.  The Sun will be in the eclipse degree of 29 Cancer of last year's solar eclipse having eclipsed the Radical MC of the LA chart, Venus will be transiting the eclipse of 13 Virgo, Mercury will be transiting the eclipse degree of 21 Leo conjunct the Radical node of the SF chart.

July 22, 2010*** when the Moon transits the degrees of 21-24 Sagittarius.

It's difficult to post anything on the chart of the San Andreas fault as there are too many unknowns at this time and it's still in the testing phase. There are a few things to look at in this chart however.  The San Andreas fault chart does have Radical Saturn placed at 18 Libra and is square to this upcoming eclipse.  The Radical Node of this chart is at 5 Aries square to the last eclipse of June 26, 2010 at 4 Capricorn.  Will this chart prove useful?  It's anyone's guess at this point, but Beetroot, the quake predicting cat, and I are working on it.

The progressions are interesting as well.  The progressed chart I created based on the research I've done is below.  I selected the time of 12 noon on June 30, 1894, as the exact time is unknown therefore making the angles, moon, and points unreliable. Take a look.

5.4 Quake in Southern California--predicted

Astroquake Zone has done it!!  Back in the March postings, Astroquake Zone was forecasting a 4.0+ quake in California on July 7, 2010 when the Transiting Moon reached 26 Taurus conjunct with fixed star Algol.  The actual quake occurred on July 7, 2010 at 4:53 pm when the Transiting Moon was at 25 Taurus.  Astroquake Zone not only forecast this event in March 2010 but came within one hour and 1 degree of exact timing!

California and the Difficult Month of July 2010

As we are now in eclipse season and the in the midst of the Cardinal Climax transits, I thought it would be good to go over the transits and the solar eclipse of July 11, 2010 for the chart of California.

A couple of the stand out features of this chart are the oppositions between Mars conjunct Mercury in Libra to Saturn in Aries in the mid Cardinal signs and the oppositions between Venus conjunct Moon conjunct the AC in Scorpio to Pluto and Uranus in Aries.  Uranus rules the 4th house, Pluto rules the 1st, Venus rules the 7th, all are involved in the oppositons ruling angular houses.  In addition, Mars is the traditional ruler of Aries and thus is the depositor for Saturn, Pluto, and Uranus.  The depositor of Mars is Venus in Scorpio who's ruler is Pluto, thus Mars is very important in this chart as the final depositor of all and making the transits of Mars essential to watch.  The Node is elevated in this chart sitting near the MC.

In the past year or so, the California chart has seen the following eclipses:  August 5, 2009 LE at 13-14 Aquarius opposite the Node and January 26, 2009 SE at 6 Aquarius conjunct Lilith.  The following eclipses are still active in this chart:  September 11, 2007 SE at 18 Virgo, February, 20, 2008 LE at 1-2 Virgo.  These eclipse degrees and planets (points) along with all the eclipse degrees in the past few years are senstized to upcoming transits.

The upcoming Solar Eclipse of July 11, 2010 at 19 Cancer doesn't eclipse any radical position in the chart but it does eclipse the Progressed IC exact. Also in looking at this progressed chart, it is noted Progressed Mars was eclipsed on January 26, 2009 along with the Progressed Node at 5 Leo sitting in the 4th house.  The Progressed Venus at 11 Capricorn was hit opposite by the lunar eclipse of December 31, 2009.

The eclipse takes place exactly on the Progressed IC of this chart bringing all 4th house matters into focus to bring about changes.  Eclipses tend to clip out parts of life in which house they fall in order to make way for the new.  Yet, they have a way of doing so in a dramatic fashion usually in the form of a crisis.  According to the astrologer Raphael, earthquakes follow closely on the heels of eclipses and especially in those places where it falls on the MC/IC axis.  This eclipse does take place on the Progressed IC  with the upcoming July 11, 2010 SE for California.

The transits for the date of the eclipse has the Node conjunct Progressed Venus--the Progressed chart ruler.  Transiting Venus will be conjunct the eclipse of February 20, 2008 trine to the Progressed AC, opposite the Progressed Sun, Neptune, Transiting Chiron and Lilith.  Transiting Mercury squares the Progressed AC, conjuncts the Progressed Node, and opposes both the Progressed Mercury and Mars.  Transiting Saturn in an eclipse degree is conjunct with malefic fixed star Scheat.  Transiting Pluto trines the Progressed AC, Transiting Venus, and the Progressed Moon but squares both Transiting Jupiter and Uranus. Transiting Neptune conjoins the Progressed Sun. And yet, there is more---Transiting Mars conjuncts the eclipse of September 11, 2007 at 18 Virgo conjunct with the Radical Sun and exactly square to the Radical Vertex.  Last but certainly not least, this eclipse squares the Radical and Progressed Saturn!  California's chart is on fire with the transits and eclipses to important positions from now throughout July with the great potential to set off the adverse aspects in its chart.  There really isn't a day in July where the charts of California, Los Angeles, and San Francisco are not affected as the many of the outer planetary radical positions are in Cardinal signs.  Having Mars transiting the sign of Virgo, the Sun sign of both Los Angeles and California and San Francisco's Jupiter only adds to the danger.

Since the angles of all California's charts have been eclipsed in the past year whether it's the radical or progressed charts affecting the MC/IC axis, the potential for weather related problems, especially seismic activity is hightened to an alarming degree.  The danger period lasts for the next couple of weeks.  All days leading up to the solar eclipse are implicated.

Eclipse Season has Arrived!

Today I would like to focus on the chart for Los Angeles as the lunar eclipse happening tomorrow, June 26, 2010 affects the Progressed chart.  So let's take a look, shall we? The lunar eclipse takes place 4:30 am PDT at 4 Capricorn, the exact degree of the Progressed DC of the LA chart highlighting the angle and it's conjoined with Pluto.  As of this point in time, it is unclear whether the effects of this eclipse will pertain to 7th house matters, (i.e. relations with others, open enemies) as it is the Progressed and not the Radical angle of LA, but the eclipse does occur in an earth sign pertaining to matters of the earth such as mining, agriculture, and of course earthquakes. It does not help that the eclipse is conjoined with Pluto at 4 Capricorn. Capricorn is also the sign that represents authority and the establishment and is ruled by Saturn which happens to be transiting an eclipse degree at 28 Virgo, adversely aspecting  the Progressed Uranus, Jupiter, Neptune, and Saturn of this chart.  So not only are the planet positions of the eclipse in a grand cross, the Progressed Chart of LA mimics them and is due to be set off by the eclipse when the timing is right.  This is a potentially very dangerous set up because the angles of the chart are activated.

Last year, the solar eclipse of July 21, 2009 at 29 Cancer, eclipsed the Radical MC of the LA chart exact. It was during the summer of 2009 the state of California was in the middle of a severe budget crisis with no agreement of how to solve state's woes.  Eventually, a deal was reached and the IOU vouchers many of the states employees received were finally redeemed but not without a lot sacrifices.  It was also during this time, Los Angeles went through a period of nonstop water main breaks throughout the city.

In the past couple of years Los Angeles has had the following eclipses affecting the Radical and Progressed charts and are currently active:  March 3, 2007 LE at 13 Virgo--Radical Sun; August 1, 2008 at 9 Leo--Progressed Pluto; August 16, 2008 LE at 24 Leo--Radical Mercury; January 26, 2009 SE at 6 Aquarius--Radical Pluto; July 7, 2009 LE at 15 Capricorn--Radical Mars; July 21, 2009 SE at 29 Cancer--Radical MC; and now June 26, 2010 at 4 Capricorn-- Progressed DC and Radical Uranus.  That's a lot of stimulation especially considering the angles, planets, and the houses involved. The most important house relating to seismic activity is the 4th house.  The cusp of this house is sensitized to upcoming transits as it is one of the angles having been eclipsed.
In the Progressed LA chart, the 4th house cusp at 16 Virgo has transiting Mars approaching and will hit it in the time between the two eclipses.  Remember, the Radical Mars of the LA chart was eclipsed last summer so the transits of this planet become even more important.  June 26th, Transiting Mars at 10 Virgo squares the Radical Vertex at 10 Gemini and the Progressed Mars.  June 29th Transiting Mars makes exact contact with the Radical Sun eclipsed back in March of 2007 (belonging to Saros 9NN according to B. Brady, the physically expressive series) and still active on June 29th.  Then Mars reaches the exact degree of the eclipse 2 days later at 13Virgo squaring Radical Saturn exact before it reaches the Progressed 4th cusp.  Mars can be a real trouble maker especially in the 4th house.  H.S. Green states it does little good in this house, bad for weather related events, the common people, and the government can get shaken up.  This is the planet to watch!

There could be trouble as soon as the date of the lunar eclipse but it's my opinion if a quake is to occur it will be a few days later when nearly all the planets line up in eclipse degrees and the Comet McNaught 2009 r1 reaches perihelion projected to be on July 2, 2010.  The beginning of July has Transiting Mars conjunct with the Radical LA Sun close to the eclipse degree of 13 Virgo; Saturn opposite the eclipse degree of 28 Pisces (a very difficult solar eclipse as described in Celeste Teal's book, Eclipses, associated with fires, explosions, earthquakes, and many difficulties); Venus transiting an eclipse degree at 21 Leo; Sun transiting an eclipse degree at 10 Cancer, Mercury transiting an eclipse degree at 15 Capricorn, Transiting Jupiter squaring the Radical eclipsed Uranus; Transiting Uranus at the Aries point degree, a dynamic point associated with a great out rushing of energy; Transiting Neptune opposite Radical Mercury; Transiting Transiting Pluto on the eclipse degree conjunct with the Progressed DC and in a grand cross to Radical Neptune, Venus, Moon, and Uranus in early cardinal signs. Last, but certainly not least, is the Transiting Nodes at 11 Capricorn/Cancer within orb of the eclipse degree at 10 Cancer.

The Nodes' position is of vital importance when examining/studying earthquakes.  In every case of every major quake in the world, the Nodes' position is within a  2 to 3 degree orb of an important chart placement ( planet, angle, point), near an eclipse degree by square, opposition, or conjunction.  The Easter earthquake in Baja California had the Nodes transiting within orb the eclipse degree of 15 Capricorn, square to the Transiting Sun (a moon wobble) and  the Progressed LA node at 16 Aries.  Here's a link to an excellent article by Rob Tillet on this phenomenon www.astrologycom.com/moonwobble.html During this eclipse season, Transiting Mercury will square the Progressed LA Node with the Transiting Sun about a week later.  The Transiting Nodes also square the Progressed Fortuna at 11 Libra posited in the 4th house.

Lastly, the astrolocality chart for the June 26, 2010 lunar eclipse shows Chiron and Neptune MC lines running through Southern California while not as troubling as Saturn IC with the Node DS line crossing through the Gulf region, it is worth noting because it may signal a confusing or time for the government concerning this area.  The crossing of the Mars IC and Mercury AS lines along the latitude of San Francisco is also noted for potential danger.

The Los Angeles chart is the most active it has been in years. Whatever comes to pass, changes are coming.  Take care and I urge all to be prepared just in case there should be a quake.

Some important days to watch and prepare for are:
the eclipse of course
