Time Period of April 29-May 6

As much as I would like to say the danger from a significant quake is severely lessened in California, I cannot.  Although quake activity in the last week has been quiet, I don't believe it will remain so in the coming week.

For Los Angeles, the potential rises as the Transiting Moon approaches the Progressed Vertex at 20 Scorpio which happens on April 29th.

Yet, it is in the later part of this time period that pose more of a danger to California as the Transiting Sun, Mercury, Venus, Moon, and Mars move into a t-square formation affecting the Radical California chart involving the nodal degree across the angles of the chart.

Dates to Watch: May 3rd, May 4th and May 5th!

The Transiting Moon will conjunct the Transiting Node on May 3rd at 13 Capricorn in trine to the Transiting Sun and squares the progressed Vertex ,Radical Mercury, and Radical Mars of the California chart in the early morning hours. The Transiting Mercury will be opposite the Radical AC.  The Transiting Sun is also square to Transiting Mars conjunct the Radical Node and opposite the activation point of the lunar eclipse of August 2009 at 13-14 Aquarius.  The Moon then continues on to transit the eclipse degree of 15 Capricorn, the Radical LA Mars at 17 Capricorn, and the Progressed MC of the California chart at 19 Capricorn (opposite the upcoming Solar eclipse degree at 19 Cancer) throughout the day.  At 4:30 pm PDT, Mars will exactly oppose the eclipse of August 2009 at 13degrees, 44 minutes Leo and the Transiting Moon will hit the Progressed MC and square the Radical Saturn of the CA chart.

May 4, 2010
The Transiting Sun will be square the Node beginning on May 4th.  The afternoon/evening hours of May 5th the Moon will move into conjunction with the Radical South Node and square the Transiting Sun.  The Transiting Mercury will oppose the Radical Moon across the AC/DC axis and the Transiting Venus will be coming into a square with the Radical Sun and forming a trine to Radical Mercury.
The outer planets at this time will still be in a t-square formation in the later degrees of Virgo-Pisces activating the eclipses of 9NN and 8S.  What is different at this time is the Transiting Mars, the Transiting Sun, and the Transiting Moon will hit the activation points of the 11S Saros eclipse.  According to Bernadette Brady, the 11S Saros Series deals with sudden reforms and any blocks that stand in the way, could be violently removed.

The very greatest danger posed to Southern California ( Los Angeles region) is on May 4, 2010 from the early morning hours when the Transiting Sun and Transiting Mars will be square and activating the lunar eclipse of August 6, 2009 which was visible in California.  Transiting Venus will conjunct the progressed Mars at 10-11 Gemini.  The Moon will be transiting the solar eclipse of January 15, 2010 at 25 Capricorn and the solar eclipse of July 22, 2009 at 29 Cancer that took place directly on the Radical MC angle of the Los Angeles Chart. The Radical AC and Node of the LA chart is at 26 Libra square to the Transiting Moon as well during the morning hours on May 4th.  The Moon will continue onward from that time to transit the Radical 4th house Pluto at 4 Aquarius and the Progressed Pluto at 8 Aquarius in the early morning hours of May 5th.  The Moon moves onward to transit the activation points of 13-15 Aquarius (eclipse of August 2009 and square to the lunar eclipse of 15 Pisces, Saros 8S indicating separation and loss.

As for the outer planets, there are several activation points: Transiting Uranus (conjunct with fixed star Scheat at Pisces 29)  will be exactly square to the Progressed Uranus at 29 Gemini in the LA Chart. Transiting Saturn will be square to the Progressed LA Jupiter at 28 Sagittarius. Both of these transits activate the eclipses in Virgo, Saros Series 8S, dealing with separation and loss, and 9NN- the physically active Saros Series according to Ms. Brady.  This time period is very dangerous for Southern California!

There are quite a number of activation points to eclipses in late Capricorn and Aquarius that it's difficult to give an exact time for the Moon's transit to set off an earthquake but the activation of the eclipse degrees of Capricorn 25 through 29
are a good place to start.  Let it be noted the Radical LA nodeand AC/DC axis sits at 26 Libra, square to these eclipse points in Capricorn thus increases the emphasis on the Moon transit to these points.

So, California is still on quake watch.

The San Francisco chart is also active at this time.

Transiting Saturn will conjunct the Progressed Sun at 29 Virgo. The Transiting Sun will square the Progressed Node in the 10th house conjunct with Transiting Mars and will oppose the Progressed Venus at 15 Scorpio . The Transiting Venus conjuncts the Progressed Vertex at 11 Gemini.  The Transiting Node exactly squares the Progressed Moon at 13 Aries.  Transiting Mercury will be square to the Progressed angles.  This is another dangerous setup.

One of the more interesting charts I am working with, although I haven't verified the angles because the data is not available, is the chart of the San Andreas Fault.  After contacting several agencies, I constructed this chart based on the publication of Andrew Lawson's work in the USGS of 1895.

I set the time for this chart at 12 noon on June 30, 1894--the date of the Annual Report of the USGS for the year 1895.  Having progressed this chart to May 4. 2010 we can see the Progressed Uranus is sitting directly opposite the Transiting Sun and square to Transiting Mars.

The Transiting Pluto is opposite the Progressed Jupiter and Transiting Venus is conjunct the Progressed Pluto in this chart. The Transiting Mercury is square to the Progressed Lilith.  In addition to these, the Transiting Moon will be square to the Progressed Saturn.  I cannot reliably use the angles in this chart since the time is unknown but the outer planet positions don't move that much so the transits to these positions are noted.  There is potential there for the San Andreas fault to be active during this time.  If I had to hazard a guess, I would say the part of the fault most  likely to be active would be the section from the Cajon Pass area to Frazier Park.

The danger for a major quake in California is increasing rather than decreasing since the Baja 7.2 quake.  From now into the summer, Californians should take care, be alert, and do the best to prepare for any emergency.  Above all, don't panic, spend the time to getting oraganized and prepared.

California Awakening?

It seems as though California might be awakening to quake activity now that Mars has hit the Radical MC angle in the California chart.  This past week has been quiet lthough there are many transits hitting difficult aspects for the Charts of California, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.   Now that Mars is finally at 11 Leo, California has started to see some quake activity in the  form of aftershocks in the region surrounding the 7.2 Baja quake. Time will tell what happens, but California is on quake watch as the Transiting Moon is hitting activation points to the eclipses in Aries/ Libra.

Transiting Moon Points to Watch

Oh my, Quake forecast

Well, this has certainly been quite a learning experience!  LOL, there's nothing quite like testing out a theory and having it go wrong, but that's what this is all about--learning.

This past week nothing has happened of note on the quake front in California.  So why hasn't anything occurred yet is the question.  With the Moon transiting the eclipses in Leo and Aquarius, the Moon activated the gentle Saros series of eclipses and now that the Moon is void of course in Virgo, nothing is likely to occur until the Moon ingresses into Libra.  Tomorrow on April 26, 2010 the exact opposition takes place between Uranus and Saturn.  This combination has the potential to set off quakes especially since it takes place in the Saros Series 9NN eclipse degree.  This particular Saros Series expresses itself physically according to Bernadette Brady's description.

As the Transiting Moon ingresses into Libra April 25, 2010 it makes contact with several Progressed planet postions in the Los Angeles, San Francisco, and California charts.
The list follows:

California chart
Progressed Vertex at 14 Libra.  I'm watching this closely because I've seen the Vertex very active in all quake charts and this one is square the Transiting Node.
Progressed Jupiter at 22 Libra

Los Angeles Chart
Progressed Neptune at 6 Libra in the Progressed 4th house and involved in the grand cross between Progressed Mercury, Uranus, Saturn and Jupiter.  This could be set off by the Transiting Moon on April 25, 2010.

San Francisco Chart
Progressed Jupiter at 2 Libra
Progressed Mars at 19 Libra ( an eclipse degree) in the 12th house conjunct Mercury at 23 Libra and opposite to the Super conjunction of the Moon, Saturn, Pluto, and Uranus in the 6th.  Ugh...this shows great potential for the Transiting Moon to set this off on April 26, 2010.  The Transiting Sun is square to the 4th house, activating the eclipse degree of 6 Aquarius and the Transiting Mercury and Mars would be activating the eclipse degree of 9-10 Leo via square for Mercury and conjunction for Mars.

Another coronal hole is forming along with the magnetic disturbance on earth facing of the Sun at this time.  The Sun has been spotless for a 10 day stretch now but is starting to show some activity.

So it's not time to relax yet.  Things are building up....stay tuned.

Update for April...

Looks as though things are calm in California for now mainly due to the gentle Saros Series of eclipses in Leo.  However, the few time periods that are left are as follows for the California, San Francisco, and Los Angeles charts.

April 24, 2010

The Transiting Moon hitting the activation point of the 9NN Saros at 13 Virgo
The Transiting Moon hitting the activation point of the 9S Saros at 18 Virgo
Transiting Mars hits 10 Leo, the 4th house cusp of the New Moon chart set for Washington D.C.

This happens on April 24, 2010 around 6 pm in California.

I'm in the process of testing the San Andreas fault chart.  It might be active when
the Transiting Moon hitting the activation point of 8S Saros at 15 Pisces/Virgo but it's experimental at this point.

April 25, 2010

The Transiting Moon hitting the activation point of the 9NN Saros at 28 Pisces
The Transiting Moon hitting the activation point of the 8S Saros at 29 Virgo
This is also the time when the Transiting Mars hits the 4th house cusp of 10 Leo set for Washington D.C.

This happens on April 25, 2010 in the noon hours in California.  The 9NN Saros Series is one to watch out for in California as it has been active a few quakes for California.

The Sun will be at 5 Taurus tomorrow which has importance for California and San Francisco as it is the degree of the Descendant in the Radical California chart, also square to the Progressed Node  and 5 Taurus is square to the Progressed IC in the San Francisco chart.
Venus will be at the degree of the Pleiades cluster of stars as well.

In short, California is on quake watch up to the full moon.

Update on Quake Potential in April Part II

As stated before in my last post, this week poses the danger of quake activity in California.  The current postions of the progressed planets and points in the charts of California, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco chart are receiving transits from the inner and outer planets that are very likely to set off the progressed aspects in the charts.

In addition, two coronal holes have developed on the Sun and the solar wind stream from it is projected to the hit the earth around April 22, 2010.   A link to this infomation is provided below:
spaceweather.com

In taking this information to account, we can see the transits to the Progressed California chart on that date reveal there is a significant potential for a quake on that date.

Not only are the transiting outer planets of Saturn, Uranus involved in a t-square formation with Pluto conjunct with the eclipses in Virgo and Pisces, but Transiting Neptune and Transiting Chiron will be square to them along with the Progressed Sun.  Radical Jupiter at 29 Virgo is conjunct with Transiting Saturn conjunct the activation of eclipse degree.
The Transiting Sun conjunct the Progressed AC will square Progressed Mercury.
The Transiting Moon involved in a t-sqaure will oppose the Progressed Mars ( Progressed Mars conjunct with Radical Lilith) from the 4th house conjunct with the Progressed Node and square to the Progressed Fortuna which also happens to be the Radical AC degree.  It is also noted the Transiting Moon and the Progressed Node at 5 Leo will be trine to Radical Chiron and quincunx to Radical Neptune and quincunx to Transiting Pluto.  (that's a lot of stimulation!)
The Transiting Mars will hit the activation degree of the solar eclipse of August 1, 2009.
The Transiting Venus will be conjunct fixed star Algol at 26 Taurus squaring the Progressed Lilith and the Progressed Sun.
The Transiting Node will be square to the Progressed Vertex and the Radical Mercury.
The Transiting Mercury is square to the Radical IC/MC axis at 11 degrees Aquarius-Leo.
The Transiting Jupiter is quincunx to the Progressed Jupiter.

The Progressed AC ruler Venus, is poorly aspected in the chart.  The Radical Venus sits at 1 Scorpio in the sign of detriment and will be opposite the Transiting Sun on April 22nd.  The Transiting Venus being conjunct with fixed star Algol only adds to the emphasis to the danger posed.  Fixed star Algol represents the Gorgon's Head Medusa and is considered to have an influence of Jupiter and Saturn.  Misfortune, violence and danger are associated with this star according to astrologers.

What period of time could this happen? The evening to late evening hours of April 21 through the morning hours of April 22nd.  Specifically, the Moon will be transiting the degrees of Leo 5-9 in the evening hours would be on the early side of this time to the wee hours on the 21-22nd  but it could very well take place in the later morning as the Moon transits the Radical IC/MC angle at 11 Aquarius/Leo or the activation of the eclipse at 13-14 Aquarius.

It is more difficult to pinpoint a specific region at this time because the charts of San Francisco and Los Angeles are both active.  The San Francisco area could be hit by a quake when the Moon hits 5-6 Leo, 13-14 Leo, or 21 Leo. However, the area surrounding the Cajon Pass from Wrightwood to Frazier Park is the most likely area.

The other dates I see the strongest potential for a quake would be April 21, April 22*, April 25, 2010.  This is an update from my former post on the dates in April.  After reviewing the charts closer, the transits hitting the LA chart and CA chart are listed as they differ from the aspects listed above.

April 21, 2010 California Chart
The Transiting Sun squaring Progressed Mercury.
The Transiting Venus squaring Progressed Lilith.
The Moon transiting the Progressed 4th house to activate eclipse degrees of 25 Capricorn, 29 Cancer squaring the New Moon at 24 Aries.

April 22, 2010 California Chart
The Transiting Moon conjunct eclipse degree of 21 Leo or 22 Leo opposite Transiting Lilith
The Transiting Moon opposite eclipse degree of 17 Aquarius or 24 Aquarius
The Transiting Venus at 27-28 Taurus square to the Progressed CA Sun at 27 Aquarius and squaring the Transiting Neptune

April 25, 2010 Los Angeles Chart
The Transiting Sun will square the Radical Pluto in the 4th.
The Transiting Mercury will conjunct the Radical Chiron.
The Moon will transit the Radical 4th house of the LA chart and oppose the Progressed LA Venus at 24 Pisces and activating an eclipse degree of 24 Virgo.
The Transiting Mars will conjunct the New Moon for April (set for Washington DC) 4th house cusp.

I am including a link to a website for emergency preparedness. The organization T-CEP  was started by the community of Topanga, CA in response to the devastating fires of the Malibu/Topanga area in the 1990's.  Since it's inception, they published a handbook of emergency preparedness that was distributed to all the residents of the community.  In the handbook, several pages are devoted to devising a plan and putting together a supply kit in case of an emergency that is quite helpful should disaster strike.

The organization is run by volunteers and has provided valuable updates on emergency situations affecting the region.  T-CEP  is one example of what can be accomplished when the people combine their efforts to serve the community for the greater good.

Update for April Quake Potential

We are now entering a critical watch period for the state of California in regards to quake activity.  The charts of California, San Francisco, Los Angeles are all active and transits will be hitting key positions in those charts.  A likely time for a quake to hit the state could be as soon as the next two days extending to the full moon.
Specifically the dates of April 21-April 28th.  I will attempt in a later post today to give specific time windows.
Please don't panic, but be ready.

April's Quakes

With the recent onslaught of 7.0 quakes happening around the world, I thought I should give an update.  So far, every single quake that has occurred this year, follows the model I have laid out in previous posts.  All have had transiting squares involving the nodes in their charts, but what does this mean for California?  Summer is still the primary danger period for California, however, the transits at this time for Los Angeles, indicate caution.  Primarily, the next day or two represent a time to watch for the region.

April 16th has several important signatures that point to the potential for quake activity.  At this time, the Sun will be transiting square to an eclipse point and conjunct the natal nodes and the AC/DC axis.  Also, Mars will be opposing the 4th house Pluto conjunct an eclipse point.

In addition, there will be a lot of stimulation to activation points by the transits of Mars, Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, and the Node.  The most likely time for any quake activity to occur is when the Moon hits 20-21 Taurus i.e. 6 to 8 am on the 16th when the Moon opposes the progressed Vertex and hits an activation point.

The San Andreas Fault

In the past week or so, I have been looking into the history of the San Andreas fault.  The name, the San Andreas fault, was coined by Andrew Lawson, professor at UC Berkely in the 1890's.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Lawson
He gave the region that name because of it's close proximity to Lake San Andreas.  In 1893, Professor Lawson set out to map the area now known as the San Andreas fault.  His findings were submitted for publication in the U.S. Geological Survey Annual Report of 1895.  In an administrative letter dated June 30, 1894, he gives an overview of his work completed for the fiscal year 1893-1894.  At last, we have a date for the San Andreas fault.  While it is true the annual report could have been printed at any time, I propose using the date of June 30, 1894 for the chart of the San Andreas fault as it is the date he wrote the letter. I would like to thank Peggy at the UC Berkeley Seismological Laboratory for pointing me in the correct direction to find the publication I needed on Andrew Lawson's work.

Here is the chart with transits on June 26, 2010, the date of the lunar eclipse, visible in California.

This chart has some interesting points in relation to the upcoming lunar eclipse.  The lunar eclipse takes place at 4 Cancer exactly square to the radical Mars within 6 minutes of arc and square the Node both of which are sitting the DC. The lunar eclipse is also conjunct Pluto squaring radical Mars, the Node, and the AC/DC axis of this chart. The Vertex is exactly square to the lunar eclipse of July 7, 2009 within 13 minutes of arc. Pluto is square the lunar eclipse Mars. Last but not least, transiting Jupiter and Uranus are coming into conjunction with the AC/DC axis.  The San Andreas chart gets a powerful activation from this upcoming eclipse.

So now, let's look at it in relation to the LA chart.
Pluto is sitting on the radical Vertex of the LA chart.
The Sun in the San Andreas chart is square to the LA radical Venus. The LA radical Black Moon Lilith is square to Black Moon Lilith in this chart. The LA radical Mars is square to Saturn. This is a very dangerous combination that lies dormant in LA chart until it is activated.  As of the lunar eclipse of July 7, 2009.  The LA radical Mars was eclipsed thus making it more sensitive to upcoming transits. As discussed in a previous posting, the lunar eclipse of June 26, 2010 takes place across the Progressed LA AC/DC axis and the transiting Mars will be square to the Progressed Mars of the LA chart and squaring the San Andreas radical Pluto.  This has the potential to set off a powerful earthquake affecting  the LA area along the San Andreas fault.

However, it is very important to look at the Progressed San Andreas chart to see what is going on currently.

This Progressed Chart of the San Andreas is quite disturbing in relation to the upcoming lunar eclipse on June 26, 2010 and also in relation to the LA chart.  The first thing that can be seen is the transiting Uranus of the eclipse exactly conjunct with the Node in opposition to Progressed Chiron, signaling a shockingly unexpected wounding event. The grand cross configuration of transiting planets activates this chart quite powerfully.  Transiting Mars on the day of the eclipse is conjunct with the Progressed Moon ( however, the exact timing of the San Andreas chart is unknown) but it does square the Progressed Pluto of the San Andreas chart, the Progressed Mars of the LA chart  and is conjunct with the LA radical Sun stimulating both the LA chart and the San Andreas fault chart.  Further stimulation is given by the transiting Venus of the eclipse square to the Progressed Uranus of the San Andreas and square to the Progressed Black Moon Lilith of the LA chart.
Yet, one of the most disturbing features I find with this chart in connection with the LA chart and the lunar eclipse deals with the position of the Progressed Mars in this chart.  Progressed Mars is sitting at 26 Aries exactly square to the
LA radical AC and the LA radical Node.  In addition, it is the lunar eclipse taking place exactly on the Progressed LA AC/DC in conjunction with the transiting Pluto of the eclipse that underscores the danger to LA.  When the angles are involved in conjunction with eclipses, and transits you can expect some major event to occur.

The fact that the LA AC/DC axis is highlighted twice by the lunar eclipse of June 26, 2010 and the Progressed San Andreas fault, leads me to believe Los Angeles can expect a major rupture along the San Andreas fault. This is a very, very dangerous time for the LA region in regards to quake activity!
This could very well be THE BIG ONE and has the potential to be known as THE QUAKE of the CENTURY.

It is because of this I must add some new dates to ones I have already listed.  The fact is a quake could very well happen on the date of the eclipse if not a day before.  I think it's also reasonable to expect a good shaking on this fault April 25/April 26, 2010.

In addition, I did more some digging into eclipses affecting California after reading up on eclipses in Bill Meridian's book on The Power of Eclipse Paths.  What I found is quite startling.  The date of the LA chart I use is September 4, 1781, so I looked up eclipses happening around the time of its inception. The eclipse I found that had the strongest correlation to Los Angeles and actually passed through California was the annual solar eclipse of April 12, 1782.  The chart of this eclipse is shown below.

This chart virtually mimics the Progressed LA chart with the exception of the Sun and Moon positions (yet, both the luminaries, thus the eclipse, are exactly opposite the Progressed Venus of the San Andreas fault chart)!  In his book, Bill Meridian mentions how the pre and post eclipses surrounding the birth of a person or nation has an important effect of destiny on the person or place.  The fact this eclipse  of April 12, 1782 passed directly over the surrounding southern California area and mimics the Progressed LA chart underscores the importance of the upcoming lunar eclipse.  This eclipse of 1782 is powerfully activitated by it as well. It is said that the area of shadow cast upon earth during the eclipse is where the greatest effects of the energy of that eclipse will be felt. Both eclipses of June 26, 2010 and this eclipse of April 12,  1782 feature grand cross formations.  These are very difficult aspects causing a great deal of frustration, tension, and explosive energies unleashed.  The lunar eclipse of June 26, 2010 belongs to Saros Series 12 south and the eclipse of April 12, 1782 belongs to Saros Series 19 south.  The eclipse before the discovery of the San Andreas fault took place at 16 Aries ( precisely where the progressed LA node is located) and belongs to Saros Series 4 north.  According to Bernadette Brady, she describes the Saros Series of 19S as bringing a pleasant surprise, and 12 south as a worrying bit of news but having a more postive outcome.  However, it's the San Andreas fault having Saros Series 4 north active in it's destiny brings difficulty in the form of blockages and restrictions.  So when the all the energy of these eclipses combine, the locked up energy in San Andreas Saros Series 4N eclipse meeting the lucky break of 19S of the 1782 eclipse and worrying energy of lunar eclipse Saros Series 12S could spell big trouble in the form a a major rupture of San Andreas fault surrounding southern California.  It may be the lucky break for the San Andreas fault but the affects it will have on the region's people, economy, etc. will be devastating.

Since this posting is getting very long, I will end it here to continue again later.

Toads and Earthquakes

I thought I would share this article about animals and earthquakes.  Keep an eye out for it.

Click here: Toads Fled Area Before Earthquake in L'Aquila, Italy - AOL News

Personally, I do think animals instinctively know when something is about to happen.
