Precarious Days Ahead

We are in the midst of a precarious time period in the world.  The recent riots in Greece, European debt woes, stock market volatility, and increased seismic activity around the world are reflected in the astrological transits taking place at this time.  On April 26, 2010 we saw the 4th of 5 exact oppositions between Uranus in Pisces and Saturn in Virgo.  The Dow reached a new high on that day from the low of March 6, 2009 but since then, the market has reversed over fears of European debt.  If you plan to play the stock market during this time, you had better know what you are doing because it's extremely volatile and will continue that way for the rest of the year.

From the opposition of Uranus and Saturn on April 26, 2010 we haven't seen much in the way of quake activity in California or even in the world for that matter although, dangerous transits for quake activity remain in place.  It's been a challenge to forecast to say the least, but during the time ban of the last week, there was a increase in sunspot activity. In fact, when the Moon transited 25-26 Capricorn there was a uptick in seismic activity in California, just not a major quake.  The largest quake to hit during last week's time ban was a 4.7 aftershock to the Baja 7.2 Easter quake.  So what's going on?

As the date nears to the eclipse season this summer, the transits of the outer planets, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto are showing increasing signs of stress as they transit the eclipses of Pisces and Virgo dealing with explosions, financial stress, rebellions, storms, and transit problems.  Recent events around the world are good examples of this:  The oil rig explosion and ensuing disaster, Greece in turmoil, and the Iceland volcanic eruption.  Jupiter makes a 20 year opposition to Saturn on May 23, 2010 at 27-28 Virgo-Pisces--more stress is indicated.   This stress will be with us throughout the summer months, reaching a climax on August 1, 2010.   The cardinal climax will be with us for some time, the years of  2010-2015 are highlighted to be a significant time of change and turmoil. We can expect to see an increased level of seismic activity in regions that are prone to these events.

My focus has always been on California since I live in the US and am a prior resident of Los Angeles.  I am quite concerened about California and have been for the last year.  The charts of California, Los Angeles, and San Francisco all have difficult progressed aspects that are lying in wait to be set off by the eclipses and transits we are experiencing at this time. Several areas of particular concern involve regions of previous strong quakes, such as the Cajon Pass area to Fraizer Park.  The Wrightwood quake in 1812 happened at a time when the aspects in the sky were similar to the aspects we have now and coming up.  You could visit any mundane astrology website and read about the cardinal climax and it's historical sister time periods of the Great Depression, the War of 1812, the Robber Barons in mid to late 19th century, etc.  I don't want to go into the socio-political history of the time because this blog is about quakes in California.  I will would only like to note that the strongest quakes in California's history are also during these periods.  During the Great Depression, there was the Longbeach Beach quake; in 1812 it was the Wrightwood quake; in 1857 it was Ft. Tejon, and during the time of the Robber Barons it was the Owen's Valley quake.  The danger that is posed right now is real.  The difficulty is pointpointing the date.

This summer's eclipse season starts in late June with the lunar eclipse of June 26, 2010.  I have laid out my argument for a quake during the time period between the lunar eclipse of June 26, 2010 through July 11's solar eclipse at 19 Cancer.  June 26, 2010 thru July 11, 2010: This time period is very dangerous for California.

Yet, what about now?  This is where it's tricky.  The danger is still there.  Mars is transiting through Leo currently and activating eclipse degrees at 17-18 Aquarius, 21 Leo, and 24 Aquarius.  Anything can happen.  I cannot rule out a possible strong quake before the summer.  In fact, I am troubled by Mars transit to 17 Leo activating the very strong solar eclipse of February 6, 2008.  This particular eclipse fell on the Moon of the USA and belongs to Saros Series 10N which according to Bernadette Brady can bring inhibiting and frustrating events.

So, California still must alert for quakes.  Dates to watch are May 11-May 13, 2010, the date of the new moon in Taurus.  May 11th will have the Moon transiting the latter degrees of Aries squaring the solar eclipse of January 15, 2010, opposite the AC of the Radical LA chart, and transiting the difficult outer planet progressed aspects of the LA, SF, and CA charts. It's going to be a rocky road ahead, but if you are prepared it doesn't have to be quite so difficult.

It is said that the key to understanding the language of the universe is mathematics.  Astrology is all about geometry. The alignment of the planets and important points can tell us about the universe's affect on us.   It's the struggle to get the formula correct that is the challenge.  Hence, I'll keep trying.
